Welcome to the team - HC Pete Carroll (who has the energy of someone half his age)

Vinny's been getting a lot of shit on Twitter for getting people's hopes up on Ben Johnson but he's the one who brought up Carroll right when AP was fired.
I think we were legitimately in the running until Chicago unexpectedly decided to throw the big money at him.

Just think of it like when Bill Parcells used to come in and fix an organization in three or four years. You knew he wasn't going to be there long, but usually your team was better off in the long run. Jets were decent for years afterward. Cowboys got back on the winning track and found a franchise QB in an UDFA. Pete should be able to do something similar for us. Plus, he's not intimidated by any of these coaches in the division. He'll probably beat all of them nine times out of ten if you give him an equal squad.

He's probably the right guy to try and right this mess of the past 25 years. Any guesses on who he brings in as his OC and DC. Pretty impressive list of coaches that have worked under him. Too bad Saleh went back to SF. Guessing its probably Gus "no blitz" Bradley as DC.

Spytek and Carroll... three weeks ago this would've been considered a great combo. The Johnson rumors got our hopes up a bit but overall we ended up with some good hires. For what our franchise is right now Carroll is a perfect fit to build us back up, get us competitive quickly, and build a sustainable winning organization.

I never had faith in McZ or AP/Telesco when they were hired... I do have some trust and respect for Carroll/Spytek. If we struggle the first year or so I'm not going to call for their head. Build us up and get a QB, let's fucking go.

A few things about Carroll- he made a lot of bad rosters competitive. Schneider hit on a lot of defensive picks during thier time. But outside of Wilson the offensive picks were more miss. They filled holes with decent FAs.

Team always adapted to its personnel. He dragged a mediocre team into relevance.

Hes not a moonshot coach because of age. But he will bring a lot of definitive presence. Much like gruden did. Carroll knows his place as coach however. Won't try to overrule gm
