Welcome to the team - GM John Spytek

So we basically hired Brady's friend. For some reason, this doesn't inspire confidence either. Like how does that even go if he sucks at his job? Hey buddy, we have to fire you. Tell the wife and kids I said hi.

He was a legit quality candidate regardless of Brady. Brady/Coen connection just cherry on top

Wish him the best. Hopefully he gets a say in who the head coach will be.

Nobody ever mentioned this dude for a GM job until Brady got here. Mind you, he was in one job like 25 years before going to Tampa. It's the Reggie shit all over again. Hope it works out, but just saying, no one had heard of dude before last week.

Can he get us a quarterback? That’s kind of all I give a shit about so far. Of course, there’s also the pressure to *at least* come close to matching Telesco’s first three rounds of the draft, too.

Don’t know a damned thing about the guy so I’ll neither shit on it or spit shine it. Hope he does well.

That's exactly where I am. Don't know him or his track record. I'm thankful it isn't a retread. GM before coach is a positive sign.

Did some snooping around. Found out we interviewed him in January 2022. Also that year he interviewed with the Vikes and had *two* interviews with the Steelers (below). Also had I think 3 other interviews this year.

For good or ill…this was always gonna be the play when Brady got more ‘involved’. The only thing to prevent it…would have been if BJ put his foot down and said, ‘I want Newmark for GM’. AP and TT were gone as soon as Brady got in the driver seat (unless they just had a magical run to the playoffs).

Again good or bad…this is gonna let Brady do his Fox gig, his other ventures and still have his ‘boy’ a phone call away to communicate with.

As the Pittsburgh Steelers put together their second round of general manager interviews, they are looking in-state for a potential hire.
Pittsburgh is bringing in Philadelphia Eagles vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl for a second interview, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported Thursday, per a source.
Weidl is the fourth known candidate to get another look, along with Tennessee's Ryan Cowden, Tampa Bay's John Spytek and former Buffalo general manager Doug Whaley.
