The internet is going to have a field day if Fernando Mendoza ever has a bad game 😭

Will be easy if he keeps throwing those picks.
He had a pretty nice preseason actually. I'm certainly willing to overlook a few rookie mistakes. He displayed everything I was hoping for. Toughness, intelligence, strong arm, accuracy and a willingness to gamble in lieu of checking down. Again, Manning, Failway and others all had their early issues with picks. Favre too.

I like the guy, but the media are really pumping him up and gushing over him.
It’s starting to get sickening.
He hasn’t played a down in the nfl regular season yet.

I’m a fan don’t get me wrong. He needs to clean some things up though.

Fernando Mendoza is mimicking Kirk Cousins’ every move—calling plays, breaking fake huddles and detailing his progression from the sidelines as Cousins does it for real.

Mendoza told me he even had to stop himself from mimicking Cousins’ footwork and throws in his first game: he couldn’t tip off the opponent.

“I was so locked in.”

My exclusive for @TheAthletic on how Mendoza is handling the Raiders QB2 job.

I don’t want Fernando to get too carried away with mimicking Cousins. Could get somt bad habits in his head.

Let Fernando cook.

That’s part of what the team is getting for its $10 million investment in Cousins next year.

I'm told that many of the backups do this. My assumption is in this case, since the Nandolorian was the 1.1 and not starting is that there are camera's on him at all times. They got to talk about something....

still a good sign. :^
