“It’s a blessing and it really comes from having a great team, great teammates and great coaches in my last year in college because without them we wouldn’t have won as many games as we did, and without that, you’re not on the list. It’s all a trickle effect and I think I’m happy that I’m back at the bottom of the totem pole. Although it’s great to get reminders of the college career… it’s good to start back from stage 1, level 1, having to work my way back up and get a sense of industriousness to be successful at the next level. Fernando Mendoza on how his transition from Cal to Indiana has helped him adjust to the NFL:

“Honestly having a really rough spring at Indiana — there was a big learning curve — to now, with more experience and having dealt with that transition already, it has been smoother in the fact of learning a new offense, getting new information, learning new teammates… Have a neutral mindset of, ‘I’m learning, I’m growing, this isn’t the Super Bowl today. I have a feeling The Mouse ain't going for that. He'd be better served trademarking "Havana Montana" and calling it good.
