Ian Rapaport: The #Steelers wanted Heyward back, but Klint Kubiak wants him as his FB for what he’s building in Vegas.
 
TE who doubles as a FB. Position versatile. Looks like his primary role is special teams, but that's to be expected.

Check these highlights out a few years back at MSU. ‘Specially the first one. Basically ALLLL of them. Kid was returning kick offs, he’s a battering ram after he catches the ball. He punishes people when he blocks. His body balance after he catches the ball is great. Check it out. Kid will be an asset. We got better today because of him.

27 years old, had a penalty issue in 2024 (7) and really limited him from there. Should have an impact as a receiver for the #Raiders with career 44 rec, 379 yards, 3 TD. Just 29 career rush attempts.

It’s a fullback, Heyward is a little undersized (6’0/230) but also has made a massive impact on ST in his career with 28 tackles and just 5 missed tackles.
 
STs last year were a disaster in large part because the roster was constructed by the old man who knew jack shit and barely had 9 bodies to play ST. Why starters played on punt and PK.

Add that KK uses a FB. Getting a guy who has already played the position in the NFL helps with a rookie FB. 'Course if last year's jerk-off HC had any sense the guy he wouldn't let play D-line played TE in the SEC and would have helped on ST.

I mean I watched every game the kid played in college. I knew he was good…but after looking at those highlights, shit, the kid has some real talent. For everyone…spend 3 minutes and look at the MSU highlights above. Kid is a straight baller with the many ways he was utilized. Never been injured, only 27…and has played in 68 games in 4 years. I think KK is gonna use him the way State did back in college. I’ll repeat myself from earlier…we got better today with this signing.
