Welcome to the team Brock Bowers

Since the legit first round QBs were gone....as well as the second round QB scrubs that were reaches...you are our guy!

:bananadance:

I am an avid UK Wildcat homer, so I get to see a lot of SEC games. The fist sample I got of Brock Bowers was his freshman year and he dominated the Wildcats. I remember thinking he'd look really good in Silver and Black, and was shocked when I found out he was a freshman in that game. That floored me, a freshman dominating a game like that?!?!? Little did I know my thought came true a couple years later. :)

Did you just make that up?
Seems like I read the Rams were trying to trade up to draft him. Tuck that away in your FWIW file. It may be true, it may not. But I did hear or read about it.

From Google:

I asked this:

"Did rams try to trade up to draft Brock Bowers?"

AI Overview
Yes, the Los Angeles Rams aggressively tried to trade up to draft tight end Brock Bowers in the 2024 NFL Draft. Reports indicate they made multiple offers to teams, including the Las Vegas Raiders (who held the 13th pick) and others, but were unable to secure a high enough pick before Bowers was selected at No. 13.

Key details:
Failed Attempts: The Rams reportedly pursued trades for pick 10, 11, or 12.
The Offer: Specific reports mentioned the Rams offered pick 19 and pick 52 to the Raiders for pick 13, a trade that was rejected.

Alternative Moves: After missing out on Bowers, the Rams also tried to trade up for defender Byron Murphy II before ultimately staying at pick 19 and selecting EDGE Jared Verse.

Why: Sean McVay viewed Bowers as a rare playmaker who would have fit perfectly into their offense.
Ultimately, the team pivoted to strengthening their defense following Aaron Donald's retirement.

Brock Bowers would have 300+ catches in McVay's system and Stafford throwing to him.

Jared Verse, not a bad consolation prize.
