Old-but-entering-his-prime Queefs QB who was benched in favor of the previous starter despite arguably outplaying him?

................. I THINK he's a free agent this summer, right? If not this thread will look really dumb but I'm too lazy to look it up. :(
 
Seems we signed another player once who was getting the shaft by being benched in favor of the guy who "shouldn't lose his job because of injury"

... name slips my mind. :eek:
 
I think we would have to flat out guarantee him the starting job for him to sign here. I don't see that happening. We wouldn't guarantee anything for Josh McCown or Brooks so I don't see that changing next offseason.
 
I think he has some people fooled,,,,I remember a few guys not so long ago that had seasons like his and didn't do anything there next year starting somewhere. Grbac & Scott Mitchell.

Yes he is a free agent after this season....but I don't think he'd do as well for you as Gannon....your main concern should be your O-line...without that protection, no QB is going to do much good.
 
Chiefs seem to have a lot of guys coming up on free agency. Huard. Gonzo. Kawika Mitchell who supposedly would love to return home and play for one of the Florida teams. Both starting DTs Ron Edwards and James Reed. Then they probably got to use a 1st&3rd round tender on Jared Allen and try and lock him up long term. And then next year Larry Johnson can void his contract. It will be interesting to see how Carl Peterson handles all these contracts.

From what I read, they'll be meeting with Gonzo's agent this week to try and work out a contract. I know they aren't gonna let him become a FA....they should be kicking their own asses for letting T-Rich go....even though, he's injured now too.
 
Not the worst idea of all time.

Interesting to see what happens with Kawika. Hasn't had good numbers this year, but that may be just that the other Chiefs are tackling this year.
