that i feel should be raiders

1. Tim Rattay. I'm on the bandwagon with Crow... unless D. Carr already has deal in place I at least want one capable backup to compete with Walter.

2. Adam Timmerman - guy was an all pro guard for a number of years. at worst he'd help out the young guys. at best hed be a beast of an LG.

I would add Corey Dillon to that list. Fucker scored 14 TDs last season while splitting carries. He can still hammer the rock.

I thought Rattay signed somewhere?

If he's coming in to be a backup or to compete for a bigger role fine, but the dude is the smallest QB in the league (6 feet 200 pounds? C'mon), he is 5-11 as a starter, and doesnt really fit with the direction the team will be going IMO.

I'd take Timmerman in a heartbeat though

I'm not sure I have interest in either. Rattay has never impressed me, although I can't see him being a bad #3 QB.

With Timmerman, I worry about his ability to get to the 2nd level. He's just not as mobile/athletic as he was 4 years ago. He's been a different player in STL than he was in GB.

Dillon would be a great pick up that would honestly solidify the rb by committee theory as being almost a sure success(he's still a deadly rb who can pound you to near death). If we weren't paying Jordan I could see us getting him.

I don't think Dillon would come to our team. He has stated he wants to go to a contender or he will think about retiring.

Michael Bush at #99 or #100 would be a good pick IMO. This guy has a ton of talent and was suppose to be drafted in the top 20 before he got hurt. He could take all the time he needs to heal/learn how to be an NFL RB behind LJ and Rhodes. He would come cheap and play with a huge chip on his shoulder. Honestly I dont see Petrino in ATL passing on him too many times. Michael Bush is going to be at least a very good 2nd string RB in the NFL for many years who has a chacne to be a very good starter IMO, thats worth a fourth rounder for me.

Yeah, I want Bush. I also want Marcus Thomas.

But I always want to take the chance on the lottery ticket that may pay off. Probably not the best way to build a team.:o

I doubt we draft any rb's this draft on day one. we have possibly 4(crockett may take more of a rb role with griffith here) already that will for sure get the touches. Any rb we draft could be doomed to special teams work only barring plenty of injuries. all day 1 picks should go to spots that we need more like DT, QB, DE, OL, and TE.

GW? In my best Borat................................................ NOT!

That has to be one of the funniest fuggin movies I've seen in a long time.

And the Jihad gains strength.

Dont know if you guys already posted this from PFT: http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm

TERRY TAKES UP FOR TIM

By all accounts, Terry Bradshaw wasn't upset when rumors of his demise circulated a couple of months ago. In contrast, however, he's pissed off that fellow Lousiana Tech alum Tim Rattay currently has no job.

"I don't understand it," Bradshaw said earlier this week. "Tim isn't a problem, he's a great guy in the locker room. He played great those last four games in Tampa Bay last season and he doesn't get a chance?

"They made a mistake," Bradshaw said of the 49ers' decision not to keep Rattay. "The West Coast offense needs a guy who's smart, accurate and can throws [sic] passes to the right people. That's Tim."

At a time when there really aren't that many great quarterbacks available, we tend to agree with Bradshaw. Why haven't the Raiders called Rattay? Or the Vikings?

In Minnesota, Rattay instantly would go to the top of the depth chart. And he likely could "manage" a game far better than former starter Brad Johnson, who primarily "managed" to throw a bunch of stupid interceptions last year.

Rattay turned 30 last month, and still has at least five or six years in his arm. Maybe more. So we agree with Bradshaw; the fact that Rattay isn't on an NFL roster really makes no sense.

We need depth I dont see why we havent signed Carr, Harrington, Rattay etc..

Why do we need those guys when we have Sheik Yur Booty:p I for one, think Rattay could be a decent back up and a capable starter in spot duty. As I mentioned in the other thread, he knows the WCO and did a decent job in relief of Bruce Gradkowski at TB. I think the Bucs could have won another 4-5 games if Gruden wasn't so enamored with Gradkowski after Simms went down.
Have we even contacted him?

Seems he already had the perfect contender scenario with the Pats... Me thinks more than anything else, Dillon is concerned with landing with a team that will give him close to 300 carries...

I'd like to bring Ian Scott in myself... Young NT, strong against the run off a good defense..

That we've reached the point where need to sign the likes of Tim Rattay and Joey Harrington just makes me sad... I keep getting this feeling that we'll be forced to trade for Jake Plummer before all is said and done...

I could think of a worse case scenario than signing Plummer, bringing in a statue like Drew Bledsoe. . Question is, does Plummer still have the desire to play? I don't think signing him would necessarily preclude us from drafting a QB and he'd be coming to us from a hated rival which ought to make Shanny feel good.

Well, there's always that...

I can see us picking Calvin Johnson at 1, and assuming Quinn makes it to 4, us sending CJ to Tampa for Quinn, Plummer and their two 2nd round picks... I really think Kiffin, if possible would like to have a mobile vet on board that could pick up the offense quickly and make things go from day 1... I'd actually have no problem with this scenario myself...

Corey Dillon has no interest in splitting carries.

If he did, he'd be in New England still.

He wants to be a workhorse.

Well, that means he has three options:
Green Bay
Tennessee
Buffalo

And he damn sure better sign with one of them before the draft, because all three will be in position to draft Lynch.

Well, there's always that...

That maybe one of the best scenarios I've seen. . The Bucs would basically get the guy they covet and would at least get some value in return for Plummer. Just wondering if they'd also be willing to part with both their 2nd rounders which would give us three second rounders and a chance to trade back up into the first and snag another skill position guy. I'd do that deal in a hearbeat.
