Would I be picking nits if I said the dragon CGI on HotD kinda looks like shit compared to GoT? Or overstating things if I said it occasionally looks like shit in general?

It's hard to ignore when we've seen how excellent it's capable of looking when they want it to.

Everything about the show is Temu GOT. Still a worthy watch but it's the redheaded step child of the universe.

That other show with Dunk and Egg was premium IMO.

HOTD is watchable but doesnt grab me quite as much. Some great characters though.

If the online discourse is to be believed, the main problem with this show is the fact they've all but abandoned the source material. They're calling it bad fan fiction.

The completely random attempted rape scene doesn't appear to be going over well either.

Yeah that was a total wtf and also who the hell even was that guy? Seems like they introduced him into the story solely for the rape scene.

I think it's the characters that are a problem actually. There isn't anyone I give a shit about on that show and the actress for the queen just bugs me.

She was good in the first season. I think the writing is what's fucking her and everyone else up. Or maybe the writing in season 1 was good enough to prop her up and she doesn't have that crutch anymore. Either way, it sucks how badly this show has fallen off a cliff.

But, I'll keep watching. 🤷🏻‍♂️

It's like the NFL, the product is watered down but we still watch.

I think another major fail for the show is there aren't any fucking hotties in it. Cersei and Khaleesi were must watch TV.

If he was in the show previously, I've completely forgotten him. Maybe they wanted to give us a reason to hate him to make his death more satisfying? TV and movies do that dumb shit a lot. But here it just didn't land because the whole thing was too out of left field to make any sense. It served no narrative purpose at all.

Even if I did recognize the character and he had previously been relevant in some way, I still wouldn't be able to get past the stupidity of how he thought he'd be able to rape the queen mother and get away with it.

Alicent is basically just a hole in this show. Watching her endure having sex with the king in season 1. Letting the crippled freak jerk off to her feet in season 2. Now, two episodes into this season, her eldest son kisses her like he wants to fuck her, and some random guy tries to rape her. What am I meant to take from all this?

Yeah, I think maybe these show runners underestimated the value of eye candy to a show. They don't even need to be naked or in sexual situations. A pretty face goes a long way.

You make a great point. I guess I like the acting of Daemon and the one eyed bandit dude more than the "character"

I dont care which side wins though, even though we have all likely read what happens haha.
