Tim's thoughts...

There's a reason former Raiders star Tim Brown was a star analyst on Fox Sports Net last year in his rookie season on the tube. He is smart, well-spoken, and doesn't sugar coat his opinions.

We asked him directly if Oakland could surprise people and become a factor in the AFC West. Brown succinctly replied, "No."

He then went on to explain.

"There are some major leadership issues in Oakland. There are some major focus issues in Oakland. Jerry Porter isn't happy and that's not a good thing heading into camp. There are still a lot of issues on defense."

And Brown shared my view on the bizarre Raiders appointment of Tom Walsh as the offensive coordinator when he said, "It's going to be interesting to see if he can get it done. If I was a betting man, I wouldn't bet the farm on Walsh being able to get it done. He's a bright guy, but he's been out of the game."

However, Brown made a great point about what the mindset of the Raiders has to be in order to succeed: "If they (the Raiders) don't like the play calling or the system, they still have to get it done. They can't complain. That's their guy."
well i can't hate on his honesty. though i do think we should move Porter. Brown witnessed his tantrums first hand. tantrums that called for Rice and Brown to be moved out of the way for him to be a star. of course he hasn't been the star he was figuring to be.
