Now I am just speculating here,,,,,But this really scares me....

What if (this is a BIG what if)

What do we do if Arron Brooks comes in here and Lights it up?

What will happen with Walters and will he no longer be the QB of the future?

What will happen with all the Walsh Haters (including me)?

What do we do if Brooks wins a bunch of these game left (draft & FA)?

also I saw this and was giving it some thought,

You know what I have no problem with this at all right now.....

If Brooks comes in and the offense looks sweet I'll piss my pants.

I don't care about future draft picks, Walsh, Walters as much as I care about the total team.

Having said that,.... I don't think Brooks has the warrior ethos and is devoid of any leadership skills this particular offense needs to succeed.

Basically we went after the wrong QB last year.... we should have went after McNair. I'd give HB's left nut for McNair right about now....

If the offense pulls its head out of its ass and starts doing well...... why on earth would that be a bad thing?

Momentum toward next season, vets want to stick around instead of jump ship, FAs sart signing, we don't waste a high pick on Quinn.......

But I don't see it happening :(

Let's not forget those last 3 games of the Pre-season, where he actually looked like he could do something with the Offense.

Vanilla offense against vanilla defense (Lions vanilla defense, at that), sure Brooks could do something.

But that doesn't mean he can when the games count.

If by chance he started and played well, I think that should make any Raider fan happy, just to see something go right on the field.

Finally, what happens on the field is about a zillion times more important than what happens on a message board.

If the Raiders trotted Mandy freakin' Moore out at quarterback, I'd want to win games. If Brooks gets the nod and comes in a does that, I'll be pretty happy, regardless of what it means for Andrew.

I just want to see this team start winning more games than it loses...

Aaron Brooks has the scrambling ability that Walter does not to make something out of nothing

Until this team gets a franchise breakaway RB and a new OC...

I just dont see much production from the offense regardless of who is in at QB

Aaron Brooks is an upgrade

But how much?

Now talk about a HUGE price to pay...

Walsh haters? I prefer Walsh Realist... I didn't like the hiring, but I defended it right up until I saw the product...

Brooks mobility works both ways... He has an awful tendancy to turn a 7 yard pocket into a 15 yard one by fading straight back at the first sign of a rush... Personally I think he's harder to block for than a more statuesque guy like Walter... Giggles definitely sucks hard on the appearing to give a shit and leadership scale...

The problem is the OL, so "Martin Lawrence" Brooks will experiment the same punishing Walter is taking on. Things may look different under Brooks the moment they switch the QB, but after one or two games things will look awful again, and Fart Shell is gonna bench him once more.

We probably should use a tandem approach, Like Woodley- Strock in Miami many years ago (they went to the SB, but lost the game).

If the people is worried about benching Walter, I think they should stay cool. A break would be good, and also gives him the chance to watch things from outside. Walter will be taking the snaps one way or the other for several games this season, and most likely will be the starter next season which is the real important thing. We all know this season is lost.

The McNair of 4 years ago? Sure. The current McNair would already be on IR behind this atrocious line.

1. Brooks ain't gonna light it up. But, he probably will get lit up...like a christmas tree. Our line is no better, really, and Brooks got sacked 7 times in three quarters vs. SD. Sort of renders the whole "Brooks is more mobile" argument moot.

side note...I remember Jeff George getting sacked 12 times vs. K.C. a few years ago, and 8 of them coming from Derrick Thomas! Look for Hali and D.J. to bring the house come Sunday. Gunther has a long memory.

2. Walter will stick as starter with a much shorter leash imo. He'll likely go into '07 firmly entrenched as the #1 and be much improved, if history plays out. Unless we take Brohm or Quinn in April there's little reason to suspect AW wouldn't still be our QBoF.

3. If somehow walsh manages to formulate an entire game plan and we beat the chiefs, it would be noteworthy. Never easy to win in Arrowhead. That said, the mayor may be safe for the rest of the season but depending on how well he does in the remaining games his head would probably still be on a platter in February. Personally, I think he never should have been hired but then again, I do enjoy the experience of a cozy little mountain getaway.

4. If Brooks wins a bunch of games I'll be suprised to say the least. He was a cast off from a terrible Saints team and now he's on an even worse Raider squad. The odds of him making a difference are slim to none. My guess is he'll come in and make a few good plays, lots more bad ones and end up frustrated, unhappy, and sore.

While we're day dreaming.. what if we only had to play the first half of each game per week? Imagine how much better a team we'd be if we didn't have to contend with making any meaningful half time or 'on the fly' adjustments. Wow.

How many sacks did Brooks take in Week 1?

His scrambling ability didn't help him then.
very good point, i reserve judgement on it being an upgrade.

Does Walter get 3 quarters and then get pulled for Brooks in the 4th?

I'd be OK with that. I mean why not at this point. See what both of the mofos can do (if anything) behind the same stinking OL...good idea Rup.
