I'm old enough to remember when most people down here would score highly on that examination. Even the shitty and the hateful had some type of raising.

Today? Yeah, it's a little different. Lots of evidence of bad parenting on display.

A little late on all this, but my kids will be attending the Community College (JUCO) I work for. $10/semester and only pay for books (most of which are moving online and free) and supplies for the course. This gives them 2-3 years to figure out what they really want to do and go from there. Hopefully my daughter goes back to welding after whatever pushed her away from it this year is gone. If not, she may go after stagecraft, which is another of her interests. My son most likely is going to do something with film and TV.
 
Due to a bus driver shortage, I am driving my son and a friend of his to a school event tonight. it happens to be by the best BBQ place in the area. I live in upstate NY so BBQ joints are few and far between and finding a decent one is rare. This place isn't great by any standard except NY standard. Whenever I am near it I stop to grab some decent BBQ for inflated prices. His friend is a vegetarian. Even the mac-n-cheese has bacon. The portobello burger has pastrami on it. They might be able to eat the fries. PITA.
