Kirk Herbstreit made clear Minshew was the worst QB. O'Connell made the O look like it did have the necessary pieces.

Makes me think that a new QB with a real arm and the ability to move faster than a DT could do some amazing things with the roster as is.

Yes, I want to improve both G positions, get Miller's backup, much better depth on O-line, a fast RB. But if O'Connell could do that against the Chefs in Arrowhead, damn.

However, the draft does have Travis Hunter from Colorado who could help the Raiders in multiple ways. He could either be added to the Raiders receiver room or their group of cornerbacks.

While he is talented enough to play both ways, that is not sustainable in the NFL long term. What a fucking idiot. Don’t take a QB unless they’re a lock? So never draft a QB ever? And draft a different player at a different position who also is not a lock to be successful? He’s just sticking his head in the sand at our last five years of drafts or some shit? I legit would be embarrassed if I was his boss seeing the content he churns out.

Yes, that one performance should open up the conversation about making him our franchise QB. Ignore every other game he has played.

If he did it three more times you should be very comfortable having a cheap, cost controlled spot starter/backup for a couple more years.

O'Connell/Pierce aint gonna put us over in a division with three playoff teams.

Yup, even if AO'C lights it up the rest of the year his best case scenario is getting into another camp competition… and he couldn’t even beat Gardner fucking Minshew in one this year. It would be our luck that a career backup type like Aidan would light it up for a few weeks to fuck up our future and then never be heard from again.

I thought AO’C played decently relative to expectations but he’s always going to be a liability because he can’t avoid the pass rush to save his life. No hyperbole, he moves like a 40 year old Aaron Rodgers.

But I never thought he was a long term starter in the league.

Is he really saying anything different? He starts with a tease (Travis Hunter) and ends with a Willistonian draft-a-QB-at-all-costs.

I don’t see how you can bring up Travis Hunter to a Raider fan base and not make a Charles Woodson comparison.

- Woodson was the last defensive player to win the Heisman and Hunter is going to be a finalist (at a minimum)
- Woodson played a little WR, but Hunter played much more WR
- Woodson ran a 4.44 forty, but Hunter is rumored to be around 4.3

- If (and it’s a big if) Hunter can play CB like Woodson and can take the top off a defense as a 4.3 WR, how do you not draft this guy?

I’m not pretending I watch college football enough to know how good Hunter might be, but any article that compares Hunter to Woodson is worth the time to read (and write) in my opinion…. But comparing Hunter to draft-a-QB-at-all-costs is idiotic and overplayed.
