****The Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread (Day 1)****

I damn sure did.

Sauce Gardner
Garrett Wilson
Jermaine Johnson

#SomethingToCrowAbout indeed.

They could fire up a post-draft cigar right now, Mike Ditka style, and call this one good.

Ah, shit. They pick again at #38. Killing the game.
One of those franchise changing drafts. If wilson is any good they could be a sneaky afc east winner. I did hear a rumor they want to move on from becton. I would throw our 3/5 at them for him.

I thought about it, but nah. Draft two tackles to compete with the guys we have with an eye towards both of them finding starting jobs somewhere along the line by next season.

If we let the Jets pick those two tackles for us, I like our chances.

how about one guy who is the size of two tackles?

Get me a Daniel Faalele and I'm a happy guy. Dude could block out the sun. He's Trent Brown big - you get so tired of running around him you never get a chance to see the qb

Raw, overweight, and doesn't inspire confidence as a pass blocker. Not for me, at least.

Faalele kinda got his ass whipped in Mobile. He let people get under him and beat him entirely to often. That's concerning to me. If you can't hold up in Mobile, I don't trust you to make it in the NFL. I put a lot of eggs in that basket.

He's entirely too tall and upright to have any chance of moving to guard if playing tackle doesn't work out. It's tackle or nothing, and the risk of nothing* is the first thing I see when I look at Faalele. If he can lose weight and keep it off so he can move around more easily, I'd feel a lot better. Short of that...eh.

*Maybe his floor is the old Langston Walker role on the FG block team. That's a little more than nothing. Not enough, though.

I'm not dead set against it. I dunno about taking him at 86, though. Seems like there'd be a surer bet on the board.

He's no Zyon McCollum, but he'll be a goody, I'd think. Quality slot at worst.
Make him earn a living trying to out rebound long WR with hops with his t-rex arms and less than 200 lbs frame.

And laughing at Lynch at the same time. :chuckle:

Hes still very raw as a player - but takes to coaching. He might redshirt a year - but i can take Good as our RT for that year. Let the big man maul as our 6th

Lamar Jackson’s an idiot. He texted “WTF” after the Ravens selected the best Center in the draft. Guess he was still upset over the Brown trade. But throwing shade at your new Center b/c you’re made about the trade? Lol

On a positive note we can call him Failele and that by itself is worth pick “86”. Used in a sentence: Dude we need to 86 Failele!

Raiders wouldn’t have gotten top WRs at pick 22

Kevin Seifert
@SeifertESPN

6 WRs in the top 20 for the time in Common Draft history. Vikings have decent depth at WR, but Adam Thielen turns 32 in August.

It was expected that the Packers would take a receiver at No. 22. The problem, though, was all the top wide receivers were off the board. Six of the top 18 picks in the draft (starting at No. 8) went in the top 18 picks.

Christian Watson still available. I would think Packers have to consider moving up to get him… have to get Rodgers someone to throw the ball to. Lazard and Cobb aren’t going to cut it by themselves.

They could also explore the trade market. Gotta be one more good WR out there that someone doesn’t want to pay.

Watson/Pierce (Fast Jordy Nelson) should definitely be on their radar.

One of the bigger losers tonight: Donks

No picks plus 2022 4th place schedule:
  • Jets: 3 Top 10 players per Jeremiah
  • Balt: Best S, best C, possibly 2 Top 5 players
  • Panthers: Best OT
Only the Saints hurt LV tonight:
  • NE: Biggest reach
  • Pitts: Rookie QB w/questions
  • NO: 2 needs/speedy WR & starting LT

With Wilson at QB I'm sure they aren't crying in their beer or shaking in their boots.

McFluffy helped himself at his Pro Day, demonstrating that he’s a top 5% athlete (9.49 RAS). https://mobile.twitter.com/MathBomb/status/1518968145922379776

But his combine measurables left a lot to be desired, especially his 29.75” arms. https://www.mockdraftable.com/player/trent-mcduffie

Hard to cover Davante with short arms.

I'm sure Bill saw that and went and polished the ring from his SB victory over McVey.

Yeah I mean what RB doesn't like a stud center?

Been saying I don’t think Baltimore really wants to pay him. I’d trade him. If you want to run a running QB system you might wanna keep fresh (and cheaper) legs there (Malik Willis).

Good defenses expose Jackson’s limitations as a passer. Baltimore knows it. They gonna pay $50mm a year for that? I don’t think they will. They’re smart.
