The Not Too Early 2026 NFL Draft Thread

Won’t be much on the FA market this year that’s for sure. Unless we think Danny Dimes will be “the one” if he’s even available.
he’s balling for them they probably lucked into their guy. That’s why taking a swing on first rounder reclamation projects is good business.

Yes it is. That’s why I was advocating for a few of them this past offseason so heavily.

I think we have to stick with this coaching staff for a minute and also Geno ain't it.
Hopefully we can take someone and slow roll them with Geno still on the hook for next year.

So looking at Geno's cap numbers we are technically only on the hook for guarantees this year $40mm+ and $26.5mm guaranteed for next season with a dead cap hit of $18.5mm if we release him next season. There are no guarantees in 2027.

Definitely manageable if we want to release him after this year.

I said that already on Sunday. Do I need a step ladder?

8MM of the 26.5MM is a vesting guarantee. They're only on the hook for the dead cap amount in terms of actual cash.

That's correct :p $26.5mm is actually reasonable for a starting QB. Question is, do we keep him if he continues to shit the bed?

I meant we can keep him next year without much trouble. He'll probably turn things around at some point here and not suck this bad. We need some stability at coaching and QB for a minute.

If this doesn’t work out Mr. Carroll is going to have a lot to prove. :gripe:

Not sure Kenny throw a Pickett is it but you never know!
I had 3 that I wanted just to see. Mac Jones, Zack Wilson, and Marcus (even though he’s older). I also wanted to pair one of them up with another vet like Cousins if he came available and draft Jaxson Dart and make him sit a full year. Oh well..

Dane Brugler on Oregons Dante Moore

“Dante Moore has been awesome. The stage wasn't too big for him Saturday night and I love how he's making big plays in and out of structure.

It's still September. But if he continues playing at this level, Moore will be in the QB1 mix.”

Not sure if anyone said this already but.

Moore has been impressive thus far. He’s got basically everything you want in a QB now. Good arm, can move in and around pocket, can run if needed, and looks to have a decent build. 6’2 6’3”. He’s also young, having turned 20 in May this year.
