The Not Too Early 2026 NFL Draft Thread

Unless CJ Carr comes out, I personally just don’t see all the hype about the 2027 QB class

Lotta “hope”
Lotta “potential”

He's at it again. Getting a headstart on next year.
Ty foregoing a 5th year screwed up the ‘27 class. :chuckle:

Nebraska running back Emmett Johnson is @PSchrags’ favorite NFL prospect in the draft 👀

“Johnson was a beast last year… he seems to do it all. Now, he doesn’t have that top-line speed, but I love producers—especially in big conferences—who step up and play in big games.”

An update on Tennessee CB Jermod McCoy, via @TomPelissero: Doctors are concerned that he will need another surgery to replace a bone plug used to repair a cartilage defect in his knee.

The concerns are NOT about his surgically repaired ACL.

Am I the only one who's never heard of using a "bone plug"?

What's going on here, bud?!

We definitely should take an offensive lineman early. Not sure if we will though. Good lineman go early in the draft.

With JPJ and Kolton made out of glass I think it would be a reasonable decision no matter what you think of the two guys we took in round 3 a year ago.

An injury or two away from Glaze and Meredith starting again is an absolute nightmare lol.
They could come out of this draft with a new QB, a solid o-lineman and a WR by moving up with them three fourth round picks. That should probably be the low water mark, but I would be thrilled with it.

Quality over quantity.

So I've got 2 guys dropping massively because of scary medicals - downs and McCoy. I think its late first/early second for downs. It could be massive for McCoy. Like udfa massive.
Brugler doesn't have McCoy in the 1st round so there's more smoke to him dropping.

Horrible scheme fit and bad tape. Pass on proctor
He's athletic enough for the scheme. I want some fuckin people movers, he's a beast in that department.

Proctor has a unique blend of size (6-foot-7 and 352 pounds) and athletic ability. At the combine, he posted the best vertical jump (32 1/2 inches) by a player weighing at least 350 pounds since at least 2003 by 2 inches. He’s a powerful run blocker who can latch, lift, and drive edge defenders. He walls off defenders when he doesn’t get push. He moves well enough to be effective in the zone run game. He has the range to reach linebackers and get out in front when he pulls and can overwhelm defenders in space. A true junior and three-year starter at left tackle at Alabama, Proctor was named the corecipient of the Jacobs Blocking Trophy, presented to the SEC’s top offensive lineman, and earned first-team All-SEC honors in 2025.
