6. Fernando Mendoza​

Height: 6-5 | Weight: 236 | Grade: Round 1

Before the season, scouts pegged Mendoza as a quarterback who could significantly rise up the board, and the Cal transfer did not disappoint. He fully blossomed in Curt Cignetti's offense, with 3,535 passing yards, 41 touchdowns and six interceptions in 2025 while completing 72% of his passes (fourth best in the FBS). Mendoza is a steady passer and has a good frame with sufficient arm strength. He'll need upper-tier surrounding players in the NFL, but there's a clear pathway for Mendoza to become a productive starter and he has a chance to develop into a top 10-12 starter in the NFL.

That’s Raiders writer @VinnyBonsignore looking at the @Raiders team needs entering the draft.

I'm not sure how I feel about Boston. Not a burner but his production speaks for itself but he didn't run at combine or pro day. Kind of a red flag, no? @007

I might be more apt to take Ted Hurst in rd 3 and grab a fatty in rd 2. Similar size but has some wheels.

Boston seems kinda perfect made for Mendoza, I think he'd be hard to pass up if he's there.
Zero cares for underwear olympics. He's not beating you with speed anyway.

That where I thought Bech would be. He just couldn't get on the field.

I don't like it when players don't test, it's even more of a red flag for WRs. Boston's production is solid but would be nice to know exactly how athletic he is.

Agree. Remember Tyree didn't do the 3 cone and short shuttle during his pre-draft workout? That should have been a huge red flag.

You can get Ted Hurst in the 3rd most likely and he has similar size to Boston but with 4.42 speed.

WR is the position I don't really GAF. You can see if someone plays fast or not on film.

I really hate to piss that Bech pick away already. I thought he was going to be the back shoulder/contested catch guy. If KK can't scheme him open, then its hopeless for him and time to move on.

Thornton just isn't ready and we can get someone in the 3rd or 4th.

This is about a sure as a lock in the later rounds as there is. Great compliment to AJ. Just don't ask him to catch a pass lol.
 
Draft a little over a week away. I think we all know who we want or should I say “players we like.” But this is the Raiders and the Raiders always have a WTF pick at some point. Even Bech was a WTF as was Rogers last year.

Who is going to be our WTF picks in the 2nd 3rd or 4th rounds this year? Any ideas of what that might look like? I’ll give a few

Did any of the big “X” WR (Boston, Fields, Sarratt, Lane) test? Seems like a bunch of slow mo-fos.

Bech and Thornton seemingly are the biggest let downs in the class. Given that they did not see the field much, one can assume they didn’t practice well. Regardless, the Y2 offseason often tells the story for a WR. If they have not worked on their exposed deficiencies this offseason, then they are fools. This year’s their best shot at a good first impression with a new staff. Tucker apparently has not wasted it.

Hemingway threw me more than Rogers, given the run at OG, which is where he projected. Bech was a spit-shine for sure.

Probably an OL that Vegas had an earlier round grade on than most. Someone like Tristan Leigh or that other LB from Cinci not Goladay.
