This team has gotten decidedly mediocre this year. Expect a draft pick in the Karl Joseph-to-Damon Arnette range.

I'm thinking it will be a luxury pick in the late first. :koolaid:

My prediction… the 2026 QB class won’t be all that impressive either.

I like Sellers a lot but guys like Allar and Nuss have quite a bit of bad tape out there. Need big years.

I'm sure we can gear up for 2028 or whatever to fix QB though.

Nuss' dad is OC of the Saints. Shough doesn't preclude anything I gather. Basically he's the "ready" guy for the year. He does well, super. He sucks like he probably will, they'll retire him.

Most people are saying it’s quite a bit better than this years and that doesn’t even count Manning as being part of it. I’m going to guess there are 4 legit 1st round QB’s by the time the draft rolls around.

Manning won't come out this year, I'd bet quite a bit of money on it. If he does then yeah that changes things but as is the 2026 class has a similar feel to the 2025 class did this time of the year.

Carson Beck, Quinn Ewers, and Shedeur Sanders were getting plenty of hype this time last year too as potential top 10 prospects. This year it's Garrett Nussmeier, Drew Allar, Cade Klubnik, and LaNorris Sellers getting hyped. The only one that actually excites me a bit is Sellers but I'm not high at all on the other guys, I'd even put Shedeur over the rest of them. Those guys are going to have to really improve to be considered first round prospects in 2026. I'd wager one will rise to the top and the rest will be meh... similar to Ward and the rest of the 2025 class.

Just not seeing a very good class right now but we'll see what happens.

Yeah. Allar has that pedigree that he could be a riser, but I think he likely would have been in the Day 2/3 muddle of QBs if he had come out this year.

At this point, the hope of the draft class is to see a couple guys who have the light go on the way everything clicked for Burrow his last season. Allar is one of those guys we've been waiting to see breakout but he just makes small incremental improvements instead. Apart from Allar, Nussmeier and Sellers are guys who could go out and make a name for themselves. But there's no Andrew Luck type of prospect who would have been a top pick as an underclassman. And there's no Trevor Lawrence or Caleb Williams ineligible underclassman who has already been electric heading into the season.

Hopefully we see a few guys put it together this year. Raiders need a prospect class that's worth drafting. And they need to take a swing.

I don't want to go back to the Kerry Collins/Aaron Brooks/Andrew Walter/Jason Campbell years of veteran patches and shitty late-round developmental prospects.

I think Geno can hold the fort down for a couple of seasons. Would be nice to be able to groom a guy behind him. Cam Miller is a long shot but so was Brock "Mr. irrelevant" Purdy. Obviously Raiders saw something in him after passing on Howard and the Syracuse kid.

These mercurial and mid-tier QBs seem to turn into pumpkins so much faster than the best and brightest QBs.

We have seen that with Jimmy G, Derek Carr to an extent, Andy Dalton, Kirk Cousins, hell even Russell Wilson.

I think it's big roll of the dice to assume Geno will maintain the same level of success for two years even beyond the question of whether he's actually useful as a QB.

Thats why I prefaced by saying it's a long shot that someone like a Cam Miller eventually develops into a starter. I don't necessarily see Geno's play diminishing with the talent Vegas has on the offensive side of the ball.
