The Not Too Early 2025 Draft Thread

I tend to shoe horn.

Shoulda bookmarked it for later. We’ll get there eventually. Right now though, I think Milroe sucks balls and I’d still take him. There’s like a 10 percent chance of any of them actually panning out anyway. Which is still 10 percent better than the 0 percent chance from not drafting one.

Yep.

And I just meant it’s coming. Like months and months of articles and videos and commentary on why we shouldn’t take the QBs.

It happens every year.

Fuck it, throw Milroe in there too if it comes to it. It’s time to take a chance at QB, just do it.

He just needs too much work as a passer for me right now bro. Especially in the top 3 or whatever.

I'm just being honest I'd rather have Dart right now.

Milroe with another year of growth might be a thing. Right now he looks like Terrelle Pryor to me.

Yeah, I get it. I’d still take Milroe if we ended in that 7-12 range and let him sit behind AO'C for a year like Hurts did with Wentz. I am curious to see if he comes out in the draft or stays another year. I’ll admit I’m still higher on him than most but he’s got a lot of bust qualities and needs to develop more.

I decided to check on Reddit.

I learned that AO'C is top 15 and will develop into the next Brady/Manning.

So we are good on QB.

That last sentence was heavy sarcasm.

Not even talking about film grades yet because that's what the Spring is for, but Shedeur's statistical profile is full of things that typically don't go together, especially among top QB prospects that have worked out recently at the NFL level.

Among FBS quarterbacks with at least 100 dropbacks...

- 110th in play action rate
- But still has an average time to throw over three seconds?
- And also has a pressure to sack ratio of 18.2%?
- And yet is 122nd in ADoT at 8.8?

Among FBS quarterbacks with at least 50 attempts of 15+ yards...

- 41st in adjusted completion percentage (45.5%)
- But is 15th on 15+ yard throws over the middle (59.5%)
- And also somehow is 67th on 15+ yard throws outside the numbers? (38.0%)

So he's got good pocket skills, but he takes a lot of sacks. He is accurate, but the ball also hits the ground a lot. He doesn't hurt his team with turnovers, but also has a lot of missed opportunities.

Extremely weird profile, and I struggle with it.

btw while we are on the topic of statistical profiles that try to figure out how guys translate to the NFL...

Drew Allar's numbers look really, really good. His adjusted completion percentage on throws 15+ yards deep and over the middle is damn near 80%.

Good watch with Kiper and Yates. They both agree Sanders is QB1 and would have him after Maye in last year’s class. Seems like they’re on the same page as us here with Sanders and maybe a little lower on Ward than most are here.

Milroe is a guy who should sit for half a season or longer before playing. Dude is very raw. I wouldn’t hate it if we had to take him but I’d much rather have one of the other two.

Agreed, I sit him a full year if he ends up being the guy we end up with. Maybe do some packages here and there like the Ravens did with Lamar his rookie year. He’s just so raw. I still think he goes top 20 if he comes out but it’d do him well to stay another year in school with Deboer.

Cam is lighting it up again. He’s not the prettiest player but damn he’s just a baller.

‘Good’ Milroe has came to play today. Making some nails throws. Williams dropped what should’ve been a 50 yard TD.

This guy is going to continue in the discussion. We may need options if we don’t get to 1 or stay at 1( Sanders could pull and Eli…I mean look at this organization).
