The Las Vegas Raiders/STADIUM Thread

You;'re talking about the A's?

...and I thought thew Raiders were a train wreck.

Absolutely a train wreck. Rumor is that they're going to be playing in Sacramento in a minor league park until the Vegas stadium is ready, which will necessitate a reduction in TV contract revenue distribution for the organization, while the move to Vegas is still very much on shaky ground. Layoffs incoming too. I'm not sure I can remember a bigger debacle for a pro sports team.

How long has this bullshit been going on with the A's? First it was San Jose; then Sacramento; then Jack London Square...now Las Vegas. I don't even think Las Vegas gives a rip about baseball. For sure people aren't in Boston saying "let's go to Las Vegas for a long weekend and we can catch a baseball game while we're there".. Not like football at all.

A's fans are talking just like Raiders Fans ... "sell the fucking team"...

Yep, and the narrative around this one is much worse than the Raiders move. Everyone knew the Davis family didn't have the money to get something done in Oakland, sucks but that's life. Vegas rolled out the red carpet for the Raiders, they don't even really want the A's. I bet Mark is spreading some cash around behind the scenes just to fuck with them too. I can get behind that kind of petty.

The Coyotes are pretty fucking ridiculous.

Yeah, I don't really know much about the NHL but I figured it was a bit hyperbolic.

Fuck Fisher anyway though. It's crazy that that sports leagues don't view owners like these as bad for business.

That's the lunacy of sports fandom I guess, the money will keep rolling regardless.

Has t the A’s thing going on for 25 years?

Maybe the Raiders will have a winning record by the time the A’s move someplace. Wait…nm. Won’t happen.
Yeah, they were trying to line up a new ballpark and new ownership almost 30 years ago.

They had interested buyers who were willing to pay more than their current ownership, but Bud Fucking Selig wanted the team to go to his frat buddy.

I just got nostalgic thinking of catching bart to the coliseum then walking over that bridge to the stadium smelling the stench of piss, bbq, and weed. Then a tweeker would be like “hey youngsta, got a dollar?!”. The good ole days

You really haven’t got the full experience until you’ve parked in the overflow lot and had OPD threaten to arrest you the entire time walking over the bridge.

Well….shit…absolutely not

The A's are moving from a park that is a 2-3-hour drive (on gameday) to a 30-minute drive and I'm probably going to see them even less now than I otherwise would have.

The ownership group, the executive leadership team, and baseball ops leaders have run this franchise into the fucking ground, all while taking a completely antagonistic approach to their fans. There's no reason for me to support this team in Sacramento or in Vegas.

The franchise is so poorly run that ALL of their external-facing Twitter accounts (A's official, A's PR, A's president Dave Kaval) have turned off the ability to comment on their Twitter posts.

You're telling me you are announcing a move to Sacramento on your official account and fans don't have the ability to comment on the post? Fuck you.
