Raiders, at least in my lifetime, were always sort of nomadic. Dumb comp but you hear of bikers referred as nomads because they belong to the club but not a particular charter? That's how the Raiders are for me. Plus the whole 70s glitz, godfather vibe fits with Vegas and as

The A's on the other hand really represent Oakland in a much deeper sense than the Raiders ever did and the organization really sold that aspect to the fans. Rooted in Oakland, etc. Plus they're basically a real life version of the Cleveland Indians in Major League where ownership is actively trying not to compete. Shit, MLB had to change the revenue sharing rules a few years back strictly because the A's (and a couple of other franchises) where intentionally keeping their payroll at the bare minimum to reap the biggest share of revenue sharing.
All in all... it's complicated but I guess the biggest difference is it seems the Raiders
had to move vs. the A's wanted to.
