We just lost our two best players for underwhelming deals that they signed elsewhere, opening more holes on an already thin roster, and then went and signed a part time player from the Rams who's barely played at the position you project him at like he is an All Pro at it already. Yea, that's reason for optimism, lol.
Oh I'm not going anywhere....been a Raider fan longer than a lot of the posters here been breathing.....and I'll be one regardless of which inept knucklehead is running the show....but it's obvious that our loyalty will continue to be tested.Whether you can wait or not is irrelevant...because it looks like you're going to have to either way.
No two ways about it...this is a complete clusterfuck. I had absolutely no problem with what he has done the past two years and thought he had a lot more hits than misses. I also had no problem with his draft class last year. However, he overpaid for a lesser player...something I have said over and over again that you just can't do. He gave big money to an injury-prone bust at LT. Then he compounded that problem by bringing back McFadden for a year. What's next...resign Schillens?
The good news is that we aren't stuck with this for the next 20 years like we were when Al ran the show. Now that Mark has experience with being an owner and has had the chance to make more connections, I'm sure he'll hire the right guy next year.
Somehow, it's turned into an Al Davis bash? The hate he inspires among people who root for the organization he built is ridiculous.
The season hasn't started, the past two years were not good in any way, if they were we wouldn't be seeing so many excuses for them.
Reggie has the whole offseason to prove himself, but yes he's off to an asinine start. Just be ready to hold him accountable and stop using excuses to bright side it, especially Al Davis excuses.
Al has never been responsible for any of this shit, despite the media narrative. As jerry McDonald has pointed out astutely many times over the years, teams have problems with the cap when they want to have problems with it. Reggie didn't want any of those players, bottom line, whether they were good or not. If he wanted to do that, he should have went and taken over the worst college program and recruited to his heart's content all of "his guys" because as I've said several times from when he fired Hue just because to when he allowed the Knapp rehire to other mind boggling decisions made, in the NFL you need to play the cards you're dealt and improve it. He walked into a team with an above average offensive core that Al Davis left him....that btw wasn't all that expensive because the bulk of the bad contracts had just been handed out on defense. He proceeded to allow the Knapp hire, which destroyed any of that continuity and worsened the long term outlook for players drafted for that scheme with that one move alone, and then went on to use that as his motto for why this team sucked the last couple of years. A year ago, that shit got the PR guy fired, and hopefully Reggie's not far behind this time. Bring Scott mcCloughan back to the Bay....I'm officially down with that as the only solution to this clusterfuck.Somehow, it's turned into an Al Davis bash? Who has PFF and can give us some info on Saffold?
Was he really ranked as one of the top guards in the NFL last year when he played? I can't decipher the BS floating around right now. I was legitimately hoping we would pair this guy with JVD …. He is young and has major upside, with injuries being the problem.
Are the injuries bad?
FUCK YOU REGGIE… you could have signed both and Houston… He is gonna have to pull some magic to turn this offseaosn into something impressive.
What I've been saying all day. Lamar is an average player and I think the Bears will look back and think they overpaid. Veldheer? Cardinals may have gotten the steal of the year.I don't think Houston was all that great... I don't really care too much about him... But if that's all it costed to keep Veldy then we fucked up there....
he rated pretty darn well when he played G, there's just not much data.
