I generally use Kingsford. No lighter fluid though for 7 years now..

I'm a charcoal guy.But I heard a lot of people talk bad about pellet grills.I've seriously considered it.But the cost is holding me back. That said. Why the hate?

I watch the BBQ competitions on TV.They have temperature sensors all kind of infections it's hard to draw the line. The only problem I have is not the injection but what is in them.Juice or vinegar and spices fine. But phosphate to keep it juicy. No thanks. Also saw a guy put butter on some meat also to keep it moist after cooking. But it was fucking Parkay in a bottle. Nasty. Might as well put Miracle Whip.

I have friends with pellet grill, it’s really a smoker, doesn’t get hot enough to be a good all around grill. If smoking is your thing it’s a lot easier to use than the Egg and you can fit a lot more food. Egg is realy versatile, it’s a great grill, oven, or smoker. I’m about to make pizza on it, will post pics later.

The Big Green Egg seems to be the thing.

But isn't that shit you burn for that Egg like totally expensive?

@DonkeyKilla

you can get cheaper versions, Costco has one for about $500. The charcoal isn’t that bad actually, pellet is more expensive fuel. The egg holds heat so well it’s actually really efficient.

So I made pizza's on the green egg but forgot to take some pics. It was harder than i thought it would be, really have to get that pizza stone hot but not too fucking hot. First try i put the corn meal on the stone and it just liquified... shit was a little hectic which is probably why I forgot to take some pics. transferring from whatever you made it on to the stone was a challenge too, that said they came out pretty good, maybe a little too crispy on the bottom. Got the dough from trader joes. I think next time I'll run it a little less hot (it was balls out as hot as it can get) and see how they come out. Probably need to be around 600 degrees to be just right.

Rookie.

I buy the all natural charcoal and use that chimney starter unless I am in a rush.

I need to get a new smoker. Might get the vault smoker. They’re inexpensive but have good reviews. Nothing seems to last that long anymore.

I literally added hot dogs to my ramen noodles today for a little meat treat.

Everyone in here: Oh hey guys I've got an easy little recipe for ribs!

***proceeds to post a 27 ingredient all day super recipe with a bunch of items I've never heard of**

Me: I microwaved two hot dogs for lunch today

Did you heat it in the bun or the hot dogs by themselves?

WTF do you think I am a neaderthal?!?

Seriously though some of the stuff guys cook here really make me realize how stunted my maturity was there.

I still eat a lot of the same crap I did in college LOL.

I eat way too many hot dogs and ramen noodle cups than a normal 35 year old should.

you need to step up your culinary skills bro. Chicks dig it.

going to make these for neighborhood playoff party.
Hoping for a Viking upset so I don't have to see another bang bang Niner gang post or hear anyone say it...
I want a follow up post on this recipe, if you don’t mind.

So, they were a hit at the gay gang bang Niner party. They were kind of a lot of work, not sure I’d say they were worth it. I kind of messed up though and up with three big onion bombs instead of the 6 I should have had enough meat for. They might have been better if I had made smaller ones, I dunno. I would take them off much earlier if I did them again. Recipe calls for 160, I took them off around 155 or so and they were a little overcooked for my taste. They were good but I also made some bacon wrapped cajun shrimp that fucking slayed.
