Current Dead Cap:
  • ‘26: $55.8M (8th worst)
  • ‘27: $0
In Y2 of the rebuild (after tank palooza), Raiders are set to get an extra $55.8M to spend on contract extensions and FA.

Don’t F’ this up Wilkens.

The entire league was moving one direction last year and Petey was stuck in the past. Kubiak and Leonard will be a breath of fresh air.

I'll never understand what Newhouse is doing with Ted.

Maybe Ted will learn something?

I think he's a good X's and O's guy but has absolutely no charisma or personality in front of the camera.

Vito and Tashan moved on to other things. Having a former Raider (such as he was) who can speak on things from experience is an upgrade, I think.

There is that, however.

I wish Hondo would move onto other things lol. Newhouse and Linc are probably my favorites. I like Eric Allen too.

Well, Ted is getting decent guests. The last one thinks DC are not going to budge much, if any, from split safety looks and some version of such coverage. The single, deep free safety is frowned upon. They’ll just mix up calls and, he thinks, blitz more this year.

After the success McVay and Kubiak had in running 12 and 13 personnel, GM’s drafted a lot of TEs this year, which apparently had a deep TE class. Would not be surprised if OC pass more out of heavier personnel groups (12, 13, 21, 22) than 11 personnel this year.

Sea last year led the league at 7.5 yards per passing attempt out of 12 personnel. Because Kupp is a good blocker, Kubiak really stressed the running game and play action.

Prior to Shaheed, Sea only averaged 6.2 yards per passing attempt from 11 personnel. After Shaheed joined the team, Sea’s passing efficiency out of 11 personnel increased and matched the efficiency of Sea’s 12 personnel passing attack. Kupp was still there to support the running attack, Shaheed stretched the field, and JSN thrived.

Kubiak can field a strong 12 personnel group with Bowers, Mayer and Jeanty. He can go heavier or provide alternative looks with Thomas (TE), Heyward (FB) or big slot (Bech), and stretch the field with Tucker, Nailor, Thornton and/or Benson. If our OL can support a plus running game and our D can hold serve, Kubiak’s O has potential even without a WR1. Bowers could play Kupp’s role in Sea’s 11 or 12 personnel groups—making them them 12 or 13 (or 22) personnel here.
