He may have broke Mahomes early in his career and we wouldn’t have to be living in the Groundhog Day universe….
 
Gruden not recognizing that's the type of player you build around is this franchise in a nutshell. At least the new regime got that immediately and locked up Maxx before the DE prices went above 40 mil and then cut Wierdo Wilkins, who was not someone you build around. They have to nail this defensive draft next spring though, and this offense has to be all that Chip has said it's going to be to lay to rest any concerns going into the off-season so all the energy can be concentrated on the defense in 2026.

Corners, DL and OL next draft. The skill positions are covered for the most part.

Spytek seems to me that he'll always take linemen on both sides of the ball, but I think they need to nail some high end CBs and a dynamic safety for the long term. We need our Earl Thomas/Antoine Winfield for this defense.

Yah I read where he typically priotitizes the line and defense. This draft was more focused on offense.

Since none of them can cover anyway, might as well put Snowden's big ass at LB. He'd at least be a little harder to throw over, being seven feet tall and all.

Yeah I mean its puzzled me all offseason and at this point I want to see how Pete Carroll and Patrick Graham draw up a scheme without any corners, safeties or linebackers.

It just makes zero sense to me.

I assume at this point I am the crazy one as I sift through our D trying to find one guy who can run with an offensive player on a consistent basis. There is no actual honest Raider fan on earth who would have accepted "Eric Stokes/Darnay Holmes/Darrien Porter" as the starting trifecta of corners in January.

It has to be some epic scheme I simply dont understand.

Thankfully we got rid of the 5'10 guy who can actually cover. He would have blown up our entire scheme.

We have corners, they are just raw. They need lots of playing time but there's some talent there (I hope...).
Safety situation seems not all that different than last year just swapping out Moe for Chinn.
LBs I have no idea what we have. The guys that can play will rise to the top or we'll find out we don't have any...
