Grading the chiefs report card
Rushing offense
Grade: D+
Larry Johnson looked strong in the first quarter, but the Chiefs barely called his number in the next 15 minutes, and now Johnson’s streak is over.
Passing offense
Grade: D
With no Willie Roaf or Kevin Sampson, protection was a big issue.
Rushing defense
Grade: C
Rudi Johnson had his moments, but so did the defense despite being put in tough positions.
Passing defense
Grade: C+
Carson Palmer didn’t look as good as he did against the Packers, and Ty Law’s first-quarter stuff of a Chris Henry screen was something you didn’t see much of last year.
Special teams
Grade: D
A muffed punt and a rare ugly 29-yard punt from Dustin Colquitt made for a long day.
Coaching
Grade: D+
Miscommunication turned a possible touchdown drive into a field goal, and it was that kind of day for the Chiefs.
