Watched the original trilogy with my daughter this weekend. First time she sat through the entire thing.

Rumor going around now is she’s about to be retired with Filoni slotted to replace although Favreau is always lingering as well. Anyone’s guess probably. She’s almost 70 though so I doubt she’s around much longer anyway.

I read a little while back that the higher ups wanted to replace her. It was her call to remove the guy who was set to direct episode 9 right? Wasn’t he removed because of the failure of a previous movie?

There are always rumors about her status but it’s hard to tell what’s true or not. Several writers have come and gone mostly due to creative differences with Kennedy. A lot of these guys are fanboys like us whose ideas probably aren’t safe enough for the machine. At this point there is no more blood to squeeze out of the Skywalker saga though so they’re going to have to take a risk. Abrams was a safe choice as is Waititi to some extent IMO although the latter is a great fit for a certain type of Star Wars movie.

The sad thing is I've seen him in other work and he was great. I wonder how much of the shit acting was script and directing.
 
My daughter and I are rewatching everything in the order of release and just finished the prequels. Almost everyone was bad in those movies. Even Samuel L Jackson was kinda wack. I think it’s like blaming Raider WRs for not producing at this point. At any rate I’m curious what role he’d be playing in the Obi Wan series. Just the conversation of an Anakin presence gives me some hope that we’ll be seeing Vader.

Side note - it cracks me up how many people named their kid Anakin after watching TPM.

I don’t know why they would show Vader. ANH made it clear that they haven’t seen each other since ROTS. I just don’t want to see Him in Vader’s gear like he was in Sith. Knowing that he was under the armor devalued the fact that Vader was in that movie at all.

Maybe separate parts about Vader hunting down Jedi. Perhaps looking for Kenobi specifically. He was pretty active going after the Jedi in those years. Could tie it in with Maul too.

I’m just trying to imagine a show that’s interesting. Too much much Tatooine and it kinda rips off the Mandalorian vibe. Really, just give me a Vader show though.

I saw him in a movie about that British financial trader that made billions in fake trades and brought down one of their oldest financial houses( I think he was working out of Singapore)... about 10-ish years ago... I thought he played the role really well..
 
I’m kinda pulling for a Hayden Christensen redemption tbh.
