Finished The Lost Tribe of The Sith. Basically a collection of short stories about a group of Sith that set up the backstory for a later book. Interesting seeing things from the dark side point of view but not really the dark side we know from the movies. More warrior like force users that draw from emotion rather than tranquility. Revan came in the mail today.

So I just discovered Star Wars Rebel. What a great show! I was hesitant for so many years because it was computer animated, which I not a fan of. Sunbow wasn’t the high point of cartoon animation for me.

Did you watch Clones? If not, do yourself a favor and watch the last few episodes if nothing else. Not only an excellent ending to the series but helps explain some of the stuff that happens in Rebels.

Watched the first season or so of Rebels with my kids before they lost interest. It's on my list to go back to once I get a chance to go back and finish Clone Wars.

Working from home is both good and bad, since time management is even tougher with the kids, working on the house, dinners, trying to spend time with the wife, trying to assist the kids with their various projects or requests, etc. Gonna be tearing out all the saltillo tile (hate that shit!) from the house over the summer, which is gonna suck, but good in the long run. Long story short, all this shit tears into my tv/movie watching time.

If you liked that (I haven't read it, but just going off your description), there's a number of old SW books like Tales from Mos Eisley or Tales of the Bounty Hunters, and the like, which are all short stories about specific characters in the background. Each story is usually like 10-20 pages, but gives you a lot of insight about that cool looking character you saw in the movies.

I’ve had nothing but time with COVID and recovery from the broken leg. I didn’t watch either series episode for episode but both had some really good stuff worked in. The final episode(s) of Clones is must watch for any serious fan though. I’m actually pretty excited to see how they carry Ashoka over into live action. Her story arc from Anakin’s padawan to post ROJ could be really compelling.

I’ve been trying to read the legends stuff chronologically. Got Revan sitting here but had to take a break tbh. I did like the short story thing she I’ll definitely be checking that one out.

Rewatching The Mandalorian with my son. What a fantastic fucking show! The guy who plays Mando is such a great casting call. As is Werner Herzog and the guy who plays Moff Gideon. I’ve see the Mando actor in The Kingsman and he was a hoot, but nothing else. Same goes for the guy who plays Gideon. I love how they made Stormtroopers less comical and somewhat imposing again. I can’t wait for season 2!

:hmph:

He was excellent on GoT.

That show to me was much like The Tiger King. I never watched either...too much hype around both. I’m not a big sword and sorcery guy, other than the 2 Conan movies and Krull. I think Game of Thrones was in its 3rd or 4th season before I’d ever heard of it.

I always feel like a bad nerd because I haven't read the books / extended universe stuff. I bought myself the Thrawn trillogy for Christmas and am only about halfway through the first book. Just been busy with life, gaming.

@gst8 have you read any of the Vader Down comic / crossover? Was thinking about getting that at one point. One of the best lines of all time when they approach him saying "we have you surrounded!" And Vader's response is to them is "All I am surrounded by is fear and dead men".

Lol

It's more character and dialogue driven for the first few seasons. Some of the best writing ever on television...until they ran out of source material. After that...um...well...yeah. Some of the spectacle was still spectacular, and the cinematography remained unparalleled for a tv show. The decline in writing was jarring, however.

I just started with the EU stuff myself and haven’t got to the Vader comics. I’m not usually a big comic book reader... I mostly just look stuff up online as it interests me. I’ve gone through a few books now but overall I’m probably on the rookie end of SW nerdiness.

Asomugha level decline. I tried to lie to myself for a couple more seasons but going back and watching the drop off is stark. Get it? Stark?

Winter may be coming, but the same cannot be said of The Winds of Winter, I'm afraid.
