Pedro Pascal will be missed in The Mandalorian Season 4 after Disney continues filming the series without the beloved actor.

Welp, looks like the worriers were right about the shift in focus last season. Wording seems a little intentionally vague though. “Won’t set foot on set for filming”. They could easily have someone else do the physical part in the suit and Pedro do the voiceovers.

Which is exactly what they did last season.

It sounds like the next season will focus more on Bo-Katan and bringing back a united Mandalore. Besides, Din and Grogu have their little plot of land that they now live on. They have a happy little family with peace on the horizon.

What does that shift in focus do to your level of interest in the show?

I don’t think the protagonist is as important as whatever story they cobble together. I like the focus on Mandalore regardless of whether Din is featured or not. Gotta get revenge for Vizla and flesh out the Armorer anyway.

There are a lot of parallels between being a Raider fan and SWs fan. Always hoping, always knowing it's probably not going to work out haha. I generally like Filoni though. He draws heavily on the Legends stuff, which has some great stories. We'll see how it works out though with Disney Mark Davis sticking their nose in everything.

Looks like Dave Filoni is taking over all future Star Wars projects. Fuck you Kathleen Kennedy!

She's still the president of Lucasfilm so he still works for her. Still, it'll be good to have him setting the creative direction. He's commented before on not being involved in some of the projects until they're already well underway.

I have a feeling that the board of directors, or whoever calls the shots, has more confidence in him with the Star Wars franchise than her.

But has he earned that?

In what sense? Having put in the work or questioning the quality of his work? His work with TCWs and Rebels did a lot to redeem the story of the prequels and I think he strikes a good balance of respecting the lore but not being afraid to try new things. I suppose it's fair to give anyone connected to the post Disney content the side eye but aside from a complete unknown, he's probably the best person for the job. One of Kennedy's biggest issues was(is) all the behind-the-scenes problems with writers, directors, etc. Hopefully Filoni can provide a layer of insulation between her and the creators. I'm not really one to make a big deal about the whole woke Star Wars thing either but she was very blatant about her agenda in that regard. If nothing else, Filoni is a student of Favreau, which can't be a bad thing for a franchise looking for a little cohesion and direction.

Adam Driver confirmed (politely) that Rian Johnson derailed Kylo Ren's character arc. Excuse me. "Changed."

I'm sure this isn't anything everyone didn't already know, but it's good to have confirmation.

It's still wild to me that they didn't even have the skeleton of a story arc for the trilogy or that he was able to get "lets ruin Luke Skywalker" past Kennedy.

All Kennedy wanted was a strong female protagonist. The rest of the story was irrelevant.
