St. Paul Pioneer Press: CJ (reportedly) unwilling to play for Raiders

Oh man. Skin fans would be in full scale riot mode if they traded Portis and #6 away for Calvin Johnson. I check their board a lot and by far the favorites right now are either Adams or Branch. They almost universally feel they're set on offense.

Booiinng

I'd be all over that

Clinton Portis and Alan Branch?

Cook it up!

Until i hear CJ say he doesnt wanna play in oakland. Some scrub as Minny paper isnt goign to make me believe this garbage. There isnt even a quote? Just Raider hate if you ask me. Portis and Branch!!!wow that would be amazing

Wasn't the St Paul Pioneer also talking about a Porter for Smoot swap? Al is going to be doing the bending over not vice versa

I think our ass still hurts from the Moss trade.

At the time it looked pretty good. Moss was on his way to the pro bowl before he got hurt and the rest, as you say, is history. That play where he took it to the house on our first series vs NE last season, seems like ages ago.

Well maybe this CJ thing isn't what we initally thought......It looks like he doesn't care where he goes.

Not even the list of sad-sack pro teams with the first five picks —- the Raiders, Lions, Browns, Buccaneers and Cardinals —- dissuaded the consensus All-American.

"I don't think that had anything to do with anything," Johnson said at a Monday news conference at Tech. "It's been a dream of mine. It's where I've wanted to be since I've been playing football."

So begin the CJ jjhad!!!!

Yep...HBoy told me this kid was a stand up guy.

FTR I hate Eli Manning. That is a bullshit thing to pull on a team (any team) that is down and out. It's how the NFL works. Manning is a fucking dick born with a silver spoon in his mouth. (Elway too for that matter).

How Chris Horwedel, president of Nfldraftblitz.com, sees the top five picks of April's draft playing out:

1. Oakland: JaMarcus Russell, QB, LSU

2. Detroit: Brady Quinn, QB, Notre Dame

3. Cleveland: Calvin Johnson, WR, Georgia Tech

4. Tampa Bay: Gaines Adams, DE, Clemson

5. Arizona: Joe Thomas, OT, Wisconsin

HELL I COULD LIVE WITH THIS PICK TOO.....

Cleveland would have the most talented receiving corps. EVER.

KW3, Braylon Edwards AND CJ?

Holy shit.

Well, the Skins did just re-up LaDell Betts, who finished the season with 770 yards rushing in 5 games, AND drew significant praise from OC Al Saunders all year.

Plus they have TJ Duckett there. Portis could definitely be on the block.

But I would expect the Redskins to trade up to the Lions' spot for CJ rather than all the way up to Oakland.

The Lions, without Kevin Jones in 07, would likely drool over Portis, too.

The Skins got so much money tied up in S.Moss, Randle-El and Edwards I just can't see them even drafting CJ much less trading up for him.

I keep reading more and more stuff about Phil Savage and JaMarcus. They both grew up in Mobile. Alabama. Savage has been watching JaMarcus for a very long time. Nick Saban says the 1st time he heard about JaMarcus was from Savage. They know each other from when they were in Cleveland when Belicheck was the coach. Savage could very well have a big a boner for JaMarcus as Accorsi did for Eli.

That'd be fine. I'll take the No. 3 (or 4) pick, their second-rounder and next year's second-rounder.

So if we do that, do you take AP with that pick? Or Lynch? I think if ya don't go QB its gotta be RB..
