I've seen a few names kicked around. But who are the guys you're most interested in, or think are the most likely?
 
Tomorrow is the first day that teams can begin inquiring about assistants from other teams. Hopefully, we does doddle.
 
I wouldn't mind us taking a gander at Mora Jr.

He did well in that capacity with San Fran and he does have ties to Knapp and Cable ....
 
Wow weird, I was just thinking about making a thread about this... Me on the same wavelength as Crow :eek:

Most likely if Kiff has the say:

* Ed Orgeron- Close to Kiff, great motivator and expertise with developing D-linemen

* Nick Holt (USC DC)- I don't know how Carroll would feel about Kiff raiding his staff, but Holt definitely has NFL coaching aspirations... Aggressive, intense and LOUD...

* Raheem Morris (Tampa DB coach)- Supposedly being groomed by Monte

* Darren Perry- If there is a switch to the 34 planned, he knows the Dick LeBeau Steeler scheme about as well as anyone...


Most likely if it's Al's call:

* Rob Ryan- If Al has to pay him anyway, he may get another year or two...

* Keith Millard- See Ryan... Being already under contract always seems to be a huge plus in Al's eyes...

* Dave McGinnis- Al seems to like him as we always seem to sniff around him when we have an opening...

* Larry Coyer- I think Al was interested in him before Denver bumped him up to DC... Considering how the Donx D has faceplanted this year since they fired him and how good a job he's done with Tampa's D-line, this may be another chance for Al to throw a shot across the bow of the SS Shanahan...


Personally, I'd love to see us get The Incredible Holt before another NFL team does... The guy coaches the way Romo played LB....

I think Ryan will get another year... if not I think it's Orgeron's job...
 
Im betting its Dave McGinnis.

Another guy with experience, and as HB said he is ALWAYS mentioned with Raider jobs.
 
I'm not exactly sure why Al would suddenly give his offensive minded coach a say on defense....

If the defense doesn't bother showing up against LT... no chance Kiffin has earned a say in Al's eyes... especially after a 4-12 season where he got blown out of the stadium in 3 of his last 4.... and where Kiffin himself may not have all the job security in the world.

If the defense does actually show up against LT today.... then I think Ryan stays...


My guess is nobody shows up.... we lose 73-0, and the reality of the situation is nobody will want this job if in fact Kiffin is the disgruntled employee that many say he is.... I'm thinking a promotion from within is in store....

The darkhorse prediction (and this kind of shit is very a real possibility with Al still above ground)......... Kiffin gets lead piped and Ryan and Cable get promoted to co-HC............ A week later a masochistic Raider fan is arrested for stabbing Al Davis.
 
I wonder if Mora is being groomed for the Seahawk job when Holmgren steps down?
I think if Ryan gets the boot, Millard won't be far behind. It's not like he's done a stellar job with our DL that deserves a promotion..

I hope AL doesn't retain RR based on monetary considerations after pissing away money and draft picks the past few years but it wouldn't surprise me.

Oh, and Mora Jr has that assistant HC tag. He's not an option. Either he gets a HC gig or he stays put.

I thought he was strictly a secondary coach ..... my bad.


McGinnis is a good option ...........
 
That assistant HC tag is just dirty. It's like the franchise tag for an assistant coach.
 
With Rob ready to bolt, I doubt it.

That applies to Singletary also correct? He's most likely looking at a HC job but I always liked him.
 
I'd be happy just to have an assistant good enough to warrant giving him that title.

Cable, maybe.
 
Not saying that he has enough experience to do the job and I'm not saying he doesn't but I wouldn't mind seeing Lorenzo Ward get a interview for the gig. Our defensive backfield played a hell of a lot better in 2006 than it did in 2007 and he is reportedly largely responsible for Aso's ascent to a premier corner in 2006.
