Well, I believe the consensus picks in the first for us are Mario Williams or AJ Hawk. Who do you guys like in the second? If everything works correctly (us getting Mario) this is my second round guy.

Thomas Howard
Outside Linebacker | Senior | U.T.E.P.
Height: 6-3 | Weight: 240 | 40-Time: 4.47

Strengths:
Amazing athlete with rare speed for the position...Has fluid hips and does a tremendous job when dropping into coverage...Has a great burst and closes fast...Terrific in space and makes plays sideline-to-sideline...Big hitter who will light people up...Changes direction well...Is an excellent pass rusher on the blitz...Very productive...Team leader and hard worker with top intangibles.

Weaknesses:
Gets by on his athleticism and lacks great instincts, which are essential for a linebacker...Can do a better job as a tackler...Struggles when taking on bigger blockers...Needs to hit the weights and get stronger...Doesn't react on the field as quickly as you'd like...Still developing and is not yet a finished product.

Notes:
Began his career with the Miners as a walk-on safety...Father was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 1977 cousin was a member of the musical group En Vogue...A true workout warrior whose measurables are off the charts.

Man you're way ahead of me.

I think if we get Williams or Hawk we'll go OL in the seond.

Have to start studying up!

Bones, I have my tentative fantasy football draft boards done, I live for football! Some people are geeks about computers or movies, I am a football geek.

I guess this may be more your speed CB:

Taitusi Lutui
Height: 6-6 | Weight: 365 | 40-Time: 5.50

Strengths:
A massive player who is a chore to get around...Has good balance...Sets a wide base...Quick and a solid athlete...Does a good job in pass protection...Very strong and can manhandle opponents in the running game...Agile and moves well in a phone booth...Durable...Has some upside once he can focus on a single position.

Weaknesses:
Has struggled to keep his weight in check and must stay in shape or he becomes much less effective...Is not very fast or mobile...Lacks body control and does not adjust well in space...Struggles with speed rushers...Does not do much at the second level...Needs technique work...Will be limited to playing guard as a pro.

Notes:
Nickname is "Deuce"...A top junior college transfer who started two years for the Trojans...Played right tackle as a junior and struggled but became dominant in '05 when moved inside to guard...A typical road-grader in the running game who is similar in many ways to Toniu Fonoti...Has the potential to start at the next level.

This is who NFL Draft Countdown has us going with in the second rd:

Charles Spencer
Height: 6-5 | Weight: 330 | 40-Time: 5.15

Strengths:
Has great size and a large frame...Is an excellent athlete...Moves well and has good feet for a man of his dimensions...Is extremely strong and powerful...An outstanding run blocker...Shows flashes of dominance at times...Versatile with experience at both left guard and left tackle...Has a defensive players attitude and mindset...A team leader and hard worker...Still improving and has a lot of upside.

Weaknesses:
Needs to work on his technique and master the nuances of a single position...Did not have a great senior season when he was moved to tackle and struggled with speed rushers...Dealt with knee and shoulder injuries early in his career...Raw and needs development since he doesn't have a lot of experience on offense.

Notes:
Played defensive tackle his first two seasons at Pitt...Moved to the offensive side of the ball as a junior and really took to it...Could project to either guard or right tackle at the next level...Has the tools you look for and a lot of potential.

JC: Lutui is slower than molases. Holy crap! Spencer seems more like it. But let me say that your backer looks like a serious Al Davis-type.

Yeah, I thought so too...speed and size ratio. I thought the dude from SC because of the size, all our O-lineman are always mammoths.

You're absolutely right about the size of Lutui, but remember Davis likes the speed. So, even though he's a monster, he's a slow monster. If he was fast for his size (like Gallery is) he'd be a shoe in.

I wouldn't bitch at all if this was our guy.

Granted, if we go Vernon Davis, then Charles Spencer...while I like both players, I may have an aneurism thinking about how much our defense is going to suck again.

This guy is smart.

Good choice in retrospect, thus far.

I like Howard.
