I have changed my plans and am going to the Detroit game instead of the Queefs because I got tickets in the Black Hole (Sec 103 row 25). I'm very excited because I've never been in the Black Hole before though I've been going to games since the late 70's.

I'd like to hook up with any other folks that may be tailgating at the game - I'll be taking Bart as I'm couching it at a friend's house in Berkeley. I'll be showing up early - about 10 AM - with Bloody Mary's in the igloo. I'm taking a friend who brought me to A's playoff and Warrior playoff games this last year (both wins). He's a raider fan too, but it would be cool to put faces to any of the folks who post here.

Whattaboutchoo?

Well I'm boycotting the games in Oakland this year. Maybe next year I'll make the trip down a couple of times.

These last few years, frankly, going to the games and getting jammed for about $2,000 each time between hotel, airline, rental car etc. just wasn't much fun. Need to take a deep breath.

Yeah, I get that. It's only about $500 for me so it's more do-able. That's what you get for living in Seachickenland.

Well the thing is it used to relatively cheap to fly down to Oaktown for the weekend. Airfare used to be about $200 (now closer to $300+), hotels are ridiculous -- in the $300/night range (we have to stay in San Francisco so the wife can shop); rental cars are more expensive and it's s friggin' hassle to travel by air too!

Two years ago we rented a Luxury Suite. It was fun albeit pricey. But the game was just so horrible. The Bolts destroyed us. So not to take that lightly we went down for the Donkey game --- got some sweet seats through my contact at the Raiders in the Club Section. The game was another disaster. I mean its one thing to lose; it's another thing to get your fucking doors blown off and not have a single moment in the game to cheer for your team. You basically sit on your hands for 4 hours looking at your buddies going WTF?

I'm waiting for them to at least show some competitive spirit before venturing down South again. Can you blame me?

I'm still figuring out what I'm going to do.

I may just try to watch it here, but I'm worried they may show the Chargers-Bears game instead, because they're on at the same fucking time and because I'm technically considered the Southern California market we occasionally get their games.

If anyone wants to do the brainwork and find a FOX map of who gets what it'd be appreciated.

I was just going to check on the Dish Network guide a few days before.

If it's not on at home, I was gonna call up some friends and see if we can go to a bar or something (which I'm generally not a fan of 'cause I feel like a douche just sitting freeloading watching a game while the waitresses and shit keep coming by) and see it.

Today, though, someone asked me if I just wanted to go and get Mt. Davis seats for the game, and I considered it. But fuck, man, I promised myself after last year I wouldn't. I'm with Bones to an extent. (I don't have to fly down from Seattle; it's about a three-hour drive, but I'm a part-time working college student so it's still costly.) I was at the season opener last year, and I've never been more disspirited after anything, practically. Not to mention losing hundreds of bucks and having to drive home in the dark for hours. Shit-ty.

Another idea that came up was going to Ricky's bar and grill to watch it, up there in San Leandro, I think. I've always wanted to go there but never have. Anyone ever been?

I'll meet you guys there, and hey Luxury Suites are on me... Just meet me by the tailgate blasting the Santana music (that should narrow it down to about a 1000 spots)...

You guys that get to go suck...

Whatever Gilligan. That's what you get for living in RainbowWarriorland.
Enjoy the game from your grass covered hut and send the wife out shopping with the foreign tourists so you can eat some junk food, work on your tan and maybe get in a little porn after the game.

I'll make a big H-Boy 3:16 Sign and hold it up as Higgins jumps into the hole.

Man how things have changed. I think it cost me all of $500 the last time I flew in from Florida excluding airfare which I got a freebie on Delta. The Hilton was like $149 a night or something ridiculous which I split. I even had the privilige of seeing Tom Flores combover in the parking lot. I'm hoping to make at least one of the Florida games although Miami is brutal in Sep't. Which games you going to this year HB?

I'm not going to make it out this year... It's a lot of a hassle to travel out of here since 9/11... In addition to all the extra time associated with the security process, judging by the number of times I get approached upon landing, the DEA apparently believes I look like someone that enjoys having a couple of dozen drug filled balloons crammed up my rear end...

Aside from that, I'm damn well not spending 3 hours sitting at the airport and 6 hours in the air to sit in freakin Mount Davis so there's the added expense of hitting up the scalpers for some primo seats...

I'm sure I could get the wife to sign off on it if I was traveling on someone elses dime though.... Rupert has already volunteered to give me his game tickets and Bones has said he'll pay for my hotel and Limo service, so all I need is for the rest of you bums to step up and hook up the airline tickets, first class with a days stop in Vegas of course... My record is like 10-1 in games I've attended since they've returned to Oaktown so git er done Ponyboys!...

Replace "drug filled balloons" with "industrial 'Mr. Fister' dildo" and you've struck a chord with a slice of hb reality right there.

I won't be at the opener this year but I'll be at a couple of games later this year (Denver on 12/2 and Indy on 12/16).

I don't have any plans to be at any of the games this year.

Way too much going on. Things may change but I doubt it.

Well Since I live in the Burgh I won't be making it to any games, but since this year I will have the Ticket with Direct TV I will have my ass in the recliner every Sun to watch our boys bounce back this year!!!! WOW I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!! I won't have to go to the sports bar and have one little TV that I have to find a seat by to watch it with no sound. It 48 inch projection and surround sound for every game..........

There is a very slim chance if we sell our other house in time that I could be over for the Chargers game on 30th Dec. We actually have the Lions game on TV this weekend so I don't have to worry about any streams cutting in and out.

Well, after planning on attending the opening game of the year vs. Detroit, I decided I'd wait til misd season to go to a game. This weekend, my family and I will be sitting on the beach at San Clemente, Ca enjoying one last weekend of relaxation before the all the kids are 100 locked into the school year. Don't worry, I'l be home by gametime and catching the whole thing on Directv. It will be nice to see games at 1:00 in the afternoon as opposed to getting up at 2-3:00 in the morning to watch them and having a beer while watching is gonna be the shit!!

Does anyone have the stream page I can download so come gametime I should be able to watch no problem?

Sunday's Game Day Activities
September 6, 2007

The Raider Rookie Zone, located on the east side of McAfee Coliseum on the concourse between sections 335-355, is an interactive area that allows young fans to participate in a variety of family focused activities during the 2007 season. Beginning two hours before kickoff, kids of all ages can jump in a Raiders inflatable bounce house, throw a touchdown pass or kick a field goal, or solve puzzles and color while sitting at child-sized picnic tables.

The first 200 kids to participate in the Raider Rookie Zone on Sunday, September 9, will receive a coupon for a free milk shake, courtesy of Red Robin.

The Raider Rookie Zone also has a true professional football feel with the new installation of FieldTurf. About 2,000 square feet of the turf similar to that which covers one of three practice fields at the Silver and Black’s permanent facility in Alameda was donated by FieldTurf for use inside The Raider Rookie Zone.

The Raiders had FieldTurf installed six years ago and now, thanks to the generosity of the Silver and Black and FieldTurf, youngsters will now be afforded the opportunity to romp on that same NFL-quality playing surface inside The Raider Rookie Zone. This is just another way for both FieldTurf and The Oakland Raiders to give back to the community and contribute to the Silver and Black’s commitment to youth and family initiatives.
