Sam's Last chance part duex!

Robert Thomas has taken over as Oakland's starting strong-side linebacker.

He replaces Sam Williams, an Al Davis gem that never panned out. Thomas, a former first-round pick out of UCLA, is athletic and good in ball pursuit, but much smaller than Williams. Neither has been great against the run.

looks Like Sams days are numbered here in Oakland unless he remains a backup. He has been injured and underachieved far way too long.

Sorry Sam but we have to upgrade, I have a feeling I may be writing more of these in the near future......Calling Mr.Brayton, Mr. Swiegart, Mr. Sims, and Mr. Porter........I think you hear me knocking and I bringing the Cindy Crawford with me......

Thomas has been excellent against the run.

He led our team in tackles against BOTH the Bears and the Texans.

Be nice if they could get people who watch the games to write these stories.

Making tackles and stopping the run are two entirely different things. It's nice that he's making tackles, though. Hardly ever saw Sammy do that.
