The Raiders and Packers are talking about a deal for Moss, and Moss and Packers GM Ted Thompson have spoke to gauge Moss' interest in coming to the Packers. The Packers feel Moss can be the player he was with the Vikings (pre 2004) and get new energy if playing for the Packers and possibly with Brett Favre. The Packers feel they have the inside track on Moss since they have a lot of cap room and play the Vikings twice a year, something Moss really likes. A player may have to be thrown in make the deal work and a name being thrown out there is WR Robert Ferguson.

This "internet" rumor was posted in another thread Stanny. GB was looking to give up their 3rd and a player. KJB's name was also thrown out. I think they'd have to sweeten the pot for Al to pull the trigger on said deal.

While I doubt this rumor has legs (BTW, Natty, it came from Packerschatter.com:confused: ), trading Moss back to the NFC North makes sense.

Mass is correct that would be the link. I doubt the rumor has legs as well...I think Al rides the Moss ship down unless if someone brings the cake and the candles to the Al Party.

Agreed, I doubt Moss is going anywhere. Al won't move Moss if the best he can get is a 3rd and a player when only 2 years ago he gave up a high 1st and a player.

Moss sticks... Porter probably does too. And the coach (probably either Sarkisian, Martz, or Ryan) will have them front and center in the '07 offense.

From what I can gather the source of this rumor is Packer's sports columnist Chris Havel (their version of Jerry McDonald) who did a radio spot in Green Bay were he mentioned that the two organizations were in heated discussion over Moss. He made no mention of what Green Bay would give up.

I am personally not so sure that Moss and Porter will still be here.

I just find it hard to believe that such apathy and flat-out rebellion would be so easily forgotten.

Funny as it would be to see the Packers fans do a complete 180 on their attitude about Moss, it would be just that UNFUNNY to get Robert Ferguson in the deal.

Look how long Woodson stuck.

By the end of that whole episode, Porter actually looked like a sympathetic figure to many of his teammates. Shell was the bad guy.

I think it would be funny as hell as long as we got their first-rounder along with him.

I doubt Al budges for anything less. I also think GB is meeting with Moss to assess his state of mind and determine if he's still worth a first-rounder. They wouldn't go through all that if it was just a 3rd and a player on the line.

JMO.

Difficult to guage a players' trade value, but I find it hard to believe that teams would even discuss a 1st rounder. That may be Al's price, but considering attitude, injuries, age, and salary, I think a 2nd would be the ceiling.

I'd take it, too.

I found it hard to believe we'd get more than a 3rd-rounder for Philup Buchanon.

Al has some jedi mind tricks to pull, still.

Absolutely. At the beginning of the soap opera Art looked to be taking control. At the end Art looked like a fool acting like an eighth grader. Bet the way he handled "men" was part of the reason he was shit canned after only one season.

My money is on Parcells coming back, Owens released and Moss ending up in Dallas where he'll return to being the Moss of old back on turf...

With Parcells love for Marion Barber, Julius Jones could be made part of a deal especially if we are looking to take a QB at 1 and have no intention of paying Jordan that bonus/salary...

Of course with Moss gone and with no one else really willing to take him, Owens probably ends up with us...

Al's trading ability is one of the things I still have full confidence in, so I'm ready to believe.

After all, it only takes one team to get hot for Moss.

I am really sour on Moss, so chances are I'll be happy with any trade. I really believe it'd be addition by subtraction.

Shoot, trade Moss for a 2nd, and sign Donte Stallworth. Sign me up.

Might as well pop a bullet in the back of Sark's head. They gotta make it easier not harder for him.

moss for a 3rd and a player - i'd take that in a heartbeat. i'm guessing most of you would too. to suggest that we'd be settling for less is ridiculous. moss hasn't done jack in three years except for complain, get injured, and cost a lot of money. If old Al is going into this with a "no-less-than-a-first for moss" expectation he's even more senile than i thought and it's going to piss me off. hell, anything in return for this clown is fine with me.

This is true...

As odd as it sounds considering his discretions of youth, I think Keyshawn would be a good replacement for Moss, if as rumored Keyshawn opts out of his current deal... He's got the prerequisite Raider fan thing going for him and much as he bleeds USC, he'd do all he could to help sark IMO... Plus he'd give us a clutch reciever and red zone target...

Of course Key has got history with Sapp (who doesn't) but he'd be a good guy to help bring along a young QB and young WR draft pick IMO...
