Rookie Mini Camp, Voluntary Offseason Workouts, and such

Stuck his bare ass in her face, or something to that effect. May have given her a stinkface.

He comes across as an entitled douche bag. Seems like a guy that would make a kid cry for not signing an autograph.

Gannon was a jerk to his teammates and had not earned the right to be so with success. Gannon yelled at a belittled players during games and practice in front of fans and teammates.

Peyton Manning was quoted yelling at a WR in Denver who had a couple of thousand yards seasons before Manning got there. The playbook called for a certain route depth which the WR ran. When Manning yelled and the WR responded Manning old him "If I say it's a twelve yard out it's a twelve yard out. If I tell you on Thursday that it's Saturday, it's Saturday.

A self-confident leader elevates performance without being a dickead. Eli Manning made people work harder just by being himself. I sense Mendoza will quietly hold himself to a high standard and his teammates will feel badly if they don't.
You can hold people accountable without being a dick. But sometimes you need to be assertive. I havent seen that side of Fernando yet. It likely exists because you dont have the kind of success he has had unless you can elevate those around you. Other "team leaders" can take that on too.

If Fernando can pull off the balance that Peyton has with his media/football sides - that would be excellent. There isnt a more marketable football player than Peyton. His success off the field is greater than his success on it. If there's one area that Tom hasn't matched - its that.

And that's not saying Tom is some media slouch. Hes up there. He has that giant fox contract for a reason.

But Peyton is a masterclass of towing the line as a media personality. Just off color enough. Just smart enough. Just funny enough. You go too far in any of those directions and the media coverage goes from positive to negative.

So far - it looks like Fernando has some of the same qualities. And advertisers have noticed. 2-3 years and if hes even moderately successful, he will be one of the top guys for endorsements.

Does anyone think Al Davis was nice to people?
Give me a break with this shit.

Al Davis was very good to Raider players and their families. Raider staff, too.

Be a dick to him and he'd never forgive or forget. And it was his definition of someone being a dick that counted. Never sure what the whole deal with Marcus Allen was, and glad Mark patched that up.

He's added roughly a dozen notable endorsements/deals in the past year.

He was notorious for berating people that didn't perform. Just ask Mark.
This is a fucking dumb path we are going down here. Sometimes there's a need to be abrasive to get results, no matter what the job is.

For all the negative stuff you heard about him, and he deserved his fair share of blame, he also had a good heart when a player was in trouble. He was one of the first people to visit Derrick Thomas after he was paralyzed after his car accident. Knowing Al, he probably paid for his medical bills.

He was a guy who took care of his players for sure. Lots of good things to say about Al. Being a dick when you need to isn't a knock was my point.

In the organization, yes. Very seldom a player.

Before The Feud, Marcus Allen fumbled during a game at Mile High. He'd strung together eleven or twelve hundred yard rushing games, was only credited with 98 yards. Al Davis submitted that play to the League to show Marcus had gained three yards before the fumble and should be credited. The official stat is now 101 yards.

Here is where we disagree: I do not believe any person needs to be abrasive to get results. There are other ways. If you disagree, fine.
