Yea this is a TNS thread but damnit ive got thoughts too.

1. I can't say how happy I am with this offseason so far. No AFC West rival did squat in the playoffs. SD lost its coach who happened to cream us. Denver will be tough again but arent going to make a huge splash. KC will be on the decline with edwards at the helm. More offensively then defensively but still itll help us. Kiffen and his staff will be around for a while and I like what hes bringing with him.

2. predraft excitement... im definately on board with that... however while i like AP im not blown away by any #1 overall cant miss guy... I wish I was that way i could feel better about this crap season

3. just left my old job yesterday for a new one that starts on the 26th... and from the 21st to the 23rd ill be going to vegas with the girlfriend... should be an interesting couple of weeks.

4. happy overrated love day to the rest of you.

5. thats all for now but im sure we'll have one of the more interesting offseasons.

The Bolts lost their HC, their OC, their DC, and their top two assistants who would have been promoted to OC and DC. Outstanding roster or not, that's gotta hurt.

AJ Smith on a short leash? That's a dog I wouldn't mind bringing home from the shelter.

I fucking love V-Day. We had an ice storm today, and the frickin flower guy, who knows me, BTW, can't deliver the arrangement to the young lady I am dating.

So I get in my car, and drive an hour, get a new arrangement (sweet orchid setup inside this very cool vase), stop at the mall, grab some Godiva, and truck over to her place. Called from outside, and had her meet me at the door. She was floored that I'd drive around in these conditions to do that. Do you have any idea how much mileage I'll get out of this stunt? Call me a sucker if you want, I call that a power move.

This is my new favorite college coach. This is the guy at Colorado, Dan Hawkins (audio clip):

* So far so good this offseason... I'll reserve excitment till I see what we do in free agency and the draft, but I don't have any doubt in my mind that flushing the entire offensive staff was the absolute right thing to do...

* That KKK nickname some are using for Kiffen has got to go... It's just bad juju...

* The Chargers are proof that you can be your own worse enemy if you're not careful... As beloved as Der Schott was by most of his players, the Bolts are set up for an implosion should they start out slow with a new coach...

* The NFL draft is still over two months away... Time is going to seriously drag me thinks...

I have to disagree about Denver. All they need is a big play receiver and they are playoff bound. Don't kid yourself. I do agree about KC and I still can't figure out what the Bolt Brains were thinking when they let Snotty go. What a dumb ass move.

I highly recommend that Rogan/Mencia clip. I gotta say, I respect Rogan more after seeing that. Plus, it's great watching "Ned" get caught up in his bold faced lies.

Javon Walker is about as big play as they get. They are Cutler developing and either an overhaul of thier line (lepsis is old, Foster is in the doghouse, thier guards arent that good) or another Portis like RB from being a real playoff threat.

RE: Nickname for coach

I offer "Baby Lane"

RE: Rogan/Mencia

Check out www.joerogan.net for Rogan's side of the story. Pretty interesting.

LOVE THE Rogan Clip busting on Mencia, I liked Mencia when he first started on Comedy Central but I watch alot of Comedians and started to notice some similarites in his material and some others. I am glad some finally stood up and pointed it out. There is another guy that is supposely is ripping guys off. Dane Cook I heard has a lot of other peoples material in his sets as well.......

NFL draft is still over two months away...and I can't wait until then,,,,,,but we need to get some FA pick ups...

I love the Chargers mess right now, can't wait until they hire someone........
I find it interesting that they waited until Pitt and Us hired coaches before firiing Marty since those were two teams that his name was mentioned......

KC SUCKS,,,,Herm is not a good crunch time coach. Nice guy just can't win big games....so as long as he is there I am cool........

Denver is good but that D sucks, not sold they have enough RB's to get them anywhere special. Javon is great and I would love to have him but other then him they have nothing special on Offense.

The Rogan/Mencia thing was really hilarious to me. I love when Mencia says, "Do you know how hard it is to come up with material?" And Rogan says, "Yeah, I do know. You don't know, motherf*cker!"

After having been in the business, it's pretty commonplace to have comedians ripping off each others material. Robin Williams was notorious for lifting other stand-up's jokes even though it seemed like he was ad-libbing half the time. I wasn't aware that Mencia was that blatant about it. He's probably had his meteoric rise. His stuff is so repetitive after a while. As far as Dane Cook, I'm sorry, that is one unfunny mutherfugger. Nice to see a Reverend Bob Levy reference in that video clip. He was a good friend when I lived in NY.

Mencia is OK in small doses, but I typically get bored of comedians that play the "I'm fat", or "I'm a woman", or "I'm black", "I'm hispanic", "I'm a Redneck" card as the basis of their act. Too much 1-trick pony doesn't do it for me.

I'm more partial to George Carlin or even Dennis Miller. Call me strange.

Jeff Foxworthy performed one year at FSU Powwow. He was downright painful to listen to after about 20 minutes. The guy who opened for him was much better.

I liked that too. I found it funny that Mencia kept saying Rogan is jealous and a bitch.... he just keeps repeating it instead of saying anything of substance. Funny stuff.

When I was moving out here from SoCal, so co-workers had me over for a goodbye dinner and they put on a DVD of his to make fun of me. It was really lame after a short period since all the jokes are pretty much the same. Small doses is ok, but more than 20 minutes or so and it is old.

To me there's still nothing like some old school Richard Pryor. IMO, he was the funniest cat ever.

After having been in the business,

You know, I don't think being called an assclown a couple of dozen times techniquely puts you 'in the business'.... :D

I agree... though I heard an old bootleg made of a 70's show Redd Foxx did in Vegas that was literally the funniest thing I have ever heard...
