***Raiders @ Dolphins Game Thread 11/18/23***

Davis absolutely has to get this right this time. If it's AP fine. If it's somebody else who can turn this thing around fine. I just don't want to be talking about this in two years AGAIN. It's not healthy for the team. Changes coaches every 2/3 years simply has to stop.

B\TW, sell the team. :D

AP’s problem was that his QB played poorly. Complain about the play calling and in game decision making all you want but at the end of the day we win if Aidan plays better.

Agree. Our defense gave us numerous opportunities to capitalize and they couldn't muster shit. It was a winnable game that good teams win. Agree that Aidan shit the bed in the second half.

Any team that plays the Raiders should focus on containing JJ until AO'C can show he can beat you with his arm. JG wouldn't have done much better frankly so fuck Josh and Ziggy for putting this collective group of QB's together when we had other options.

Would this team be any different with Stidham and AO'C, saving about $60m between this year and next on Jimmy G and Brian Hoyer?

They wouldn't be running in place, that's for sure.

Fuck McDaniels

Got home at nine-thirty watched all but the last three minutes.

Fangio destroyed Bo Hardegree. Everything close to the line got smothered. Too many bad pass block losses resulted in O'Connell not being able to get to next read, and more often than should be the 2/3 receivers in the pattern weren't open.

On those fourth down plays, no magic play call ready.

The O is not good, limited by QB and O-line. Not even sure what's being coached -- one play Eleamenor has Chubb on the back side, he just waited and Chubb went by him -- why not get into to him and drive?

Felt like watching the 'don't lose' style of play I thought we'd got rid of. End of first half, chance for at least three and no effort.

AP needs to get back to the aggressive approach that won him two games.

Graham showed well. I want a bully of an O-line.

I like Pierce but he's in over his head as HC. I'd love a scenario where he could go back to LB coach or something under Graham, hire Ben Johnson, and go forward but that's not realistic either. I guess he still has 6 games left to try and prove me wrong but I doubt Mark Davis is going to be happy 'settling' at HC either.
I’m with you but my rationale for not wanting Pierce is that Raiders will drafting a QB. I want a strong offensive coach to pair with the young QB. He can hasten the QB’s development. I don’t see that happening under Pierce whose specialty is defense.

Apparently the story is when Fagio (not Fabio) changed his looks, offensive playbook couldn’t adjust since the playbook is limited for Aidan - given he didn’t go through training camp as the starter. They couldn’t adjust .

We'd be way better off at QB. Just that Niner game alone last year showed Stidham is better than anyone we have. He is a pick machine but so is Jimmy and AO'C has been so far too. Stidham more athletic and better arm.

McDaniels wanted Jarred back but lowballed a contract to him and he went to Denver

I have doubts as to AO'C's long term viability as a starter. That said, he played in his fourth game with a guy who's never called plays before. Hard to judge him fairly under those circumstances. But in today's NFL you have to at least manipulate the pocket, and he is a statue. As for Pierce, he will absolutely need help on the offensive side of the ball if he's the next HC- and I have doubts as to that as well. The good news is that the D is playing way better.

Graham was a not quite hot name as an up and coming HC before hitching his wagon to this debacle. I wonder if he’s got any future viability or if keeping him around at DC would be enough to placate the locker room if AP isn’t kept around.
