Raiders DCFFL Mock Draft

Ginn went 23rd to the Chiefs

Zach Miller went 36th to the Panthers

Staley went too high, IMO. 20th overall to the Giants

Kalil went 43rd to Buffalo.

I like Kalil fine, but with the signing of Newberry and switch to the zone blocking scheme I think we'll be fine with Newberry or Grove at C. Grove is much better suited for a zone blocking scheme, IMO.

As for your boy, Nips... I agree with you completely. I don't think Nicholas becomes a starter in the NFL. But I'm also not drafting guys in the 6th round looking to fill starting needs. I had Nicholas graded in the mid-4th round so the value was there for me and I also think at the very least he'd be able to contribute immediately on special teams.

Interesting... my '06 mock from last year?

1st round -- Haloti Ngata
2nd round -- Marcus McNeil
3rd round -- Duece Latui
4th round -- Bernard Pollard
6th round -- AJ Nicholson

I would have been stoked if Oakland had that draft last year... Ngata and McNeil would have been quite the grab.

I dont know Huff and Howard are gonna be trouble for years to come, postions locked down. McNeil and Ngata are very nice though. Ngata was ok as a rookie and had a year similar to Huff, not flashy but very solid. McNeil looked like a beast. The Bolts pulled o-lineman out of their ass last year and they all played well. They lost two starters before week one last year right? Coaching had to play a major role in that success. LT dont hurt either. Hopefully norv can screw that up.

Ngata had more INT's than Huff.

I wanna cry.

Seriously though, I did like last years draft overall.

Finished up the draft yesterday by taking Jacob Bender, OT, Nicholls St. in Round 7 and then picking up Joe Cohen, DT, Florida and Jessee Daniels, S, LSU as UDFA's.
