Question Regarding Our Team

So everyday I look for news, videos, articles and such and it was really brought to my attention of how many "Raider Haters" there really are in the world. I mean you look at every article and you can't blame most of the bashing that is going on, but why oh why are we the center of attention as being the laughing stock of the world? I've heard Salisbury say the Raiders are the worst franchise in all of sports period. Nancy Gay has stated we are the laughing stock on Monday Night Football. You have other ESPN guys stating how horrendous this organization is. CNN experts stating it's a complete joke, how do they expect to compete, yada yada yada.

Now look don't get me wrong, we blow monkey nuts right now. But how come you don't here how much the Cardinals suck? Why not the Steelers? They even make excuses there and say because Ben's not right? How about because they lost "key" players and they just aren't the same, not to mention they caught some breaks last year. Why does Jon Gruden get a hall pass at his lousy ass team? Why aren't the Cleveland Browns being bashed? I mean the Raiders are always the center of attention and in the limelight of being the media joke? Every little chance "they the media" can get, the harp on the Raiders. Is it me, or usually about once a day we can get some type of crap dished out on our team? I mean we get it, we aren't good right now. How many more times can they air a story about the fucking chef that is running our offense? How many more inside the huddles can we have with Al not being sharp and is ready for the rest home? I mean it goes on and on and on. I'm sure the above teams get dished on by their local media, but why are the Oakland Raiders "National Coverage" all the time?

I feel your pain Stan the Man and you're right - we're getting roasted from every possible angle. I personally believe it's because the Raiders are, and always have one of the most recognizable organizations in professional sports. NFL people and fans alike either love or hate us and it makes us a huge target when we suck. It also is sweeter when we win, so it works both ways. If we were insignificant we would be represented more like Arizona or Cleveland. It's painful right now but it beats being such an afterthought that we can't even make the news, good or bad. As far as I'm concerned, it's all good because I'll take the thick and thin no matter what. Life in the NFL is cyclical and these same jokers holding our nuts to the flame right now will be singing our praises in a few years.

The rebel attitude of Al Davis has always intrigued the media so we take it in the ass when we are bad and no one give us credit when we are good. We were a great team not that long ago so people love to take shots right now.

I wouldn't want it any other way. I would much rather be a fan of a team which polarizes peoples views rather than a team which non fans feel completely indifferent about. It is going to be all the sweeter when we get this thing turned around again.
