Pre Cleveland game thoughts

Both teams need the win desperately, but Our situation is worse, cos we haven't scored a TD and we play at home.

I watched carefully last Clevs game against the crows, it was a good reference, cos we just played the damned ravers. It is neccesary to say the Clevs shouldva won that game, they played better for most part of the game, did what is necesary to attack the crows defence, but that INT near the endzone was devastating. As devastating they probably are in a very sad state of mind. This should work for us.

But is also mandatory to say theyre playing better than us. Their offence is not that bad, and their defence had a good day containing McNairm, except when they switched to prevent mode, and you know -every fan knows- it is a suicide. Still HC keep playing that way.

I don't expect our offence to improve a lot, but something must be seen. Walsh is stubborn and will keep calling the same shit. So its all up to execution.

When the browns had the desire they put up some pressure on McNair, but unfortunately for them it didn't happen all day. Crennel will make some adjusts, and its a sure thing they will go after Walter.

I think the team that takes a good lead early will win the game.

All eyes will be watching the OL, which may turn into LOL if they don't improve.

The Raiders should concentrate more on the receivers than the QB. Frye is a pizza delivering guy when it comes to football, once every half an hour. Let him put the ball in our hands' secondary.

So two elements have to improve if we wanna win: The OL and Walsh's playcalling. can it be done?

Yep, my biggest concern is how we're going to protect Walter. He has to get more time to look around. Hopefully some quick slants will be called -- anything to get the defense thinking. At this point, however, I think we'll see plenty of blitzing by the Browns. Why not? Until we show some sign of being able to cope with the blitz packages they'd be crazy not to do it.

I was impressed if not surprised with Charlie Frye. He was doing fantastic until that interception in the end zopne that gave Baltimore life. That game was all buyt in the bag.

Hopefully the Raiders will come up with something that will work on offense.

Yeah, Frye was outstanding, specially with all that pain. But one error can wipe out all the good things, and that ball McAlister intercepted can be a season killer... Just remember what happened to the same browns against us in that infamous playoff game. Brian Sipe threw that INT to Mike Davis -I'm on my knees when I call up such a name- in the endzone, it efectively ended up his career in the NFL. Critical errors should not be overseen just because you had a good game. Players are there to win, not to pile up stats. Perfection is demanded in the NFL, not only good performances.

All I know is we better win on Sunday.

I may jump off a bridge if we lose this weekend. I don't know how much more futility I can face.

I'll meet you at the top of Queen Anne on Tuesday morning. We might as well jump together off the Aurora Bridge. Hopefully this plan will not be necessary. :p

No shit.

That being said, I have this "feeling" which certainly can't be based on logical fact, that we'll play well this weekend in all three phases...

Bones - Obviously I'm handing you $$$$ when I see you on Saturday.

Hope you guys have a blast.

Work schedule permitting, I'm going to try and hit up the SF game.

I wonder who is going to matchup on Braylon Edwards? That is the guy that scares me most on the Cleveland offense. I'm guessing "Mug" will get the majority of the reps against him, but if he struggles, we'll have to leave Huff alone with Winslow and double up on Edwards with Schwiegert, I suppose.

Ryan doesn't seem to move his DB's around that I have noticed so my guess it that Washington would draw Edwards. I could be way off base though. Frankly, I like our guys man-to-man against Cleveland's WR's. I also think we have the players to deal with Winslow without sacraficing too much coverage on the outside.
