Post Game Thoughts

Well this one stung... but not as bad as last week

changes that need to be made

1. McQ or Henderson will likely get the start next week at RT... we need some consistancy here.

2. We have to stop the dumb penalties. On both sides of the ball. I don't know how but the entire OL needs to get this down.

3. Timing - Daunte showed he had an arm today and started to look like he had some timing down... if we play a less stout against the run D I'd like to see a balanced offense with Daunte at the helm.

4. Run Stopping, Run Stopping, Run Stopping... I think we need to start showing a Terd/Warren DT combo for the first 2 downs then let Sapp/Brayton come in. Clemons showed he can be our situational RE and Burgess looked more like himself rushing the passer. Let Richardson continue to be our rotational end with them.

5. Goodbye stu... Eugene, Cooper... time to suit up.

Whatever gap control we displayed last week must have been left behind on this trip. We're getting nest to nothing from our DTs. We don't have a single two-way end on the roster. If we went DL with our first 2 picks, you'd get no complaints from me.

The OL isn't in much better shape. Gallery is officially a bust. McQ may want to look into a career with the Orlando Predators. We really need to break the bank on OLs at 12:01 a.m. when FA starts. We'll have the cap. Hopefully, Al has the capital.

The Oakland Tribune indicates LaMont Jordan is a candidate for release if the Raiders promote Michael Bush (leg) to the active roster this week.

Bush must be activated from the Non-Football Injury list by Wednesday or he'll go on I.R. Jordan doesn't have value on special teams and did not dress for Sunday's game. We suspect he'd be quickly snatched up after getting cut, but would be unlikely to make an immediate impact for another team.

I think Routt's been declining a bit the last couple games. He plays the deep ball well, but seems kind of average in the rest of his game. Hopefully he improves.

I was thinking about Kiffin's job here so far and my one major complaint is penalties. He eneds to lay down the law around here. It seemed like he was focused on fixing that problem but i t just keeps happening. He needs to bench the first guy who gets a stupid penalty next week. He needs to make these players focus. I like the job he has doen so far(obviously not in the W column) but these penalties need to stop. Even if Gallery and Sims are benched. Id rather see a young guy get worked then a vet committ stupid penalties all day. And everytime he is beaten.

I remember in the summer, the stories were that every time someone got a penalty, they'd be yanked from the game.

I wouldn't mind seeing that happen in a game. Wouldn't want to take the risk earlier this year by putting your B team guys out there, but at this point, with nothing to lose, I think it would send a good message.
