Raiders | Deal with Cleveland a possibility?
Fri, 27 Apr 2007 12:05:48 -0700

ESPN's Ed Werder reports there is a chance the Oakland Raiders work out a trade with the Cleveland Browns during the first round of the NFL Draft. There is speculation the Browns could send WR Braylon Edwards to the Raiders in addition to the No. 3 pick overall for the first-overall selection.

I would be down for this trade along with another 2nd rounder and a 4th.

Braylon on one side, Moss on the other? and Massraider gets J-Russ, thus ending his suicide watch(ya know I kid man). :D

of course i do think braylon injury concerns bother me a little. definitley not sold on replacing Moss with him rather than keeping them both.

i could definately live with that deal

By 12:10 tomorrow, I expect to see everyone post,

"Dood, massraider was so right, I don't know why we thought any of that crap was true, anyone know what number JRuss will be wearing?"

Stanny...go fro the throat bro. :D

I've got Savage on the phone now....Bastard has had me on hold for an hour now. If I have to hear this song "Cleveland Rocks" one more time...:p

Damn so i can be right too since I'm figuring us to draft arm gunner Rambo also. I just think its not a big deal if we dont. :P

if we do take Russell, i sure hope he takes #4 or something

seeing another #2 at QB after last year could be pretty damaging

Or #3 since its been tarnished with the likes if Jeffery George and Ricky Meirer.

I've not been a fan of Quinn and said he could be the next Tim Couch but the more I've studied this guy and have heard him speak, he could be a fit for this offense. One thing I've never knocked on the guy was his willing to fight, learn and never give up. Take that with "some" of his capabilities and I wouldn't mind taking him 3rd with the Clevleand pick and picking up Edwards. Seriously I would fight for another later pick though as well.

I thought I loved this idea.
Then I loggged on to www.braylonedwards.com/
Braylon "Be Easy" Edwards (really that's a nickname he chooses) has:

His own super-horo animation introduction with his own rap about him wherein he makes the winning TD with no time left to beat the Steelers. To waste 2 minutes of your time watch it and then waste no more time wanting him. It's a bargain. :D

At his salary - no way. I'd rather drive a BMW.

As much as people are dissing JRussell, I honestly don't see anything in Quinn that makes me believe he'd be any better than the big fella. I really see another Joey Harrington/David Carr clone when I look at Quinn. Maybe he'll prove some of his skeptics wrong but I don't see it, JMO.

Sooo...

You don't see 76 TDs over the last 2 years?

You don't see a guy with virtually impeccable mechanics?

You don't see multiple come-back wins?

You don't see a guy who tutored under Charlie Weiss?

You don't see a guy who's ripped from head to toe?

You don't see a guy with a monster desire to be the best at what he does?

You don't see a guy with great intelligence?

You don't see a guy with the kind of work wethic it takes to succeed in the NFL?

You don't see a guy who pressed 26 reps at the combine?

Then I don't know who you're looking at.

I like the fact that he didn't have a good team. He knows what it's like to be put behind the 8 ball and still win.

Ah...the Brady Quinn jihad LIVES.

Trade down and take Quinn. I'm in. Otherwise trade Johnson which is what Al will do. :)

I'm still for taking CJ. But Quinn is the 2nd best option.

Problem is, that's what I said when we passed on Fitz and took Gallery. "Gallery was the 2nd best option..."

That's also what I said when we passed on Leinart and took Huff. "Huff was the 2nd best option..."

Neither one of those picks was a true mistake, and I don't think this one will be either.

I'd rather have Russell-Quinn-AP than Johnson, and I fully admit Johnson is the best and 'safest' player in the draft.

At best, he might touch the ball 4 times a game (60-70 catches as a rookie behind our OL with our QB situation is very generous, IMO) and that is never enough for a first overall pick who plays a position of little importance...

A trade down or a QB.

Not only that, I think JaMarcus will be signed before the draft, if not before the day is out.

How's that for a ballsy prediction?

Signed before the draft.
