I still think he could be what I thought he was coming in if given the proper structure.

He needs a strong enough OC to keep him from thinking he's Dan Marino.

He can start by not throwing into double and triple coverages. He is making rookie mistakes by staring down his first option and getting the ball out too late. Throw the ball away if no one is open. I honestly thought that he would be the least of our issues.

Agreed, he's easily been the biggest disappointment of the season. Honestly thought the defense would be the reason we'd be losing games but they're actually playing decent and Geno is fucking is over.

You think Rat Jr. or Payton would allow their QBs to do that? Chip needs to get his shit together.

I see quite a few blaming the OC for Geno’s and the offensive failures. If you have a limited QB you end up with a limited offense. As we always say the OC isn’t saying stare down you’re WR and make your throw as elongated as you possibly can.

Rat Jr and Payton have QB’s that can actually process at a high level and are accurate as hell in the short to intermediate range. Chip absolutely loves to push the ball down the field but he can’t make the reads for the QB. The one strength Geno had coming here was accurate downfield “they said” and he’s been anything but thus far.

Yah he was like a 70%+ completion rate and accurate on long balls. He's not a good fit in this offense.

Both of those guys would murder their QB for taking the risks that Geno does. Both of those QBs would be worthless outside of the protections of the systems they're in. Geno is not stylistically the same, but he needs to be given the same short leash guys like Purdy and Nix get. Chip is asking and/or letting him get away with more than his skillset dictates.

So you think Chip should not let him “get away with it” when it’s his HC’s hand picked guy? Personally I think Chip is designing an offense that is perfectly in line with what Geno does best but Geno is failing. With that being said it’s the HC’s job in this situation to “murder” the QB. We can’t exactly go off and run a dink and dunk offense with a guy who doesn’t do the whole dunk and dunk thing well. And the idea of swapping to another QB like Pickett would have to be a HC call.

We are gonna have to ride it out until Pete says enough or Geno gets his head out of his ass

I saw that Geno is already half way to DC4’s total of 3 interception games. Granted it took Carr what 9 years to accomplish that glorious feat and Geno is halfway there in 4 games. Just with the Raiders …
