That's how ass backward that franchise is. I think the plan is to play him and see how it goes even though it should already be over. They should have just gave him the rest of his money in the off-season and let him go. The owner flat out called the contract a disaster a year ago, and all the fans hate him. Watson seemed to be trying to force their hand by being so candid instead of doing the whole I'll control what I can control or I didn't hear it speech. He pretty much said fuck y'all, and I still get paid either way.

They couldn't have absorbed the cap hit, and get some of the money back when he's on IR.
