Probably already have their mind made up it's going to be Watson just to get the last squeeze out of that contract despite it well being past time to move on. They didn't play any starters, and he doesn't seem capable of throwing very far downfield anymore, but it's the Browns. Despite getting almost a quarter of a mil for nothing, it has to be a sobering thought for him that his career is probably coming to an end in the next month or so after they get off to a bad start. Because I can't see him being invited to anyone's camp next year with how much of a pariah he is.

Interesting trend over the last few years is preseason defenses being less “vanilla”.

You get limited live reps with less padded practices and less preseason games, and your guys have to be ready to run this stuff in week one.

Need real reps doing what your defense actually is.
