I have two very, very good reasons:

1) I've had a whole week off and I'm becoming Peg Bundy. I've been watching talk shows (gasp) in between housework and stuff. Today, I found myself flipping through channels and get this: I got pissed off that the Brut Sun Bowl is interfering with Dr. Phil. Yes. Me. The college football addict. I blame the Raiders for killing my love of football this year.

2) What the HELL is the Brut Sun Bowl anyway? What's next? The BCS Rankings Suck Bowl? Or perhaps the Yet Another Pointless Bowl Bowl? Oooh. Even better! How about a Place Your Ad Here! Bowl.

I can't stand it. Corporate sponsorship is annoying enough, but how many frickin' Bowl games do we have to have every year? What happened to the good ol' days where we had the biggies? Fiesta, Orange, Sugar, Cotton, Rose. It oughta be a rule that a Bowl game has to be about food or plants.

So, my rant and petty annoyance aside, someone needs to organize an intervention. I still have twelve days of work off.

P.S. This is off-topic, so if Cross Bones can muster up the energy to move this, he can. If not, then you guys can indulge me.

The same terrorists that have demanded a playoff or at least
a +1 game? (I'm a proponent of the +1 you bastard). I too hate the corporate BS and the fact that there are meaningless bowl games. I do however remember back in the day when you could win 9 games and get squat for a bowl game. I guess I would rather have more football than less, but it does seem over the top. I also think that losing in a conference championship should be weighted less that it is, since their are many conferences that are exempt from having to play one.

And as far as the bowl names, I still call the ones that matter by their old names.
