OT: Blood and Marrow donors needed!!

Well, gang, I hate to come in here whining about lifes ills, but cancer has hit close to home on two fronts.

1st, my wife's sister-in-law has Hodgkins Lymphoma. She is now in her third battle with this disease and needs a marrow donor in the worst way. A match is not necessarily a blood type. Many factors go in to the process. Her own brother and mother are not a match, if that says anything.

2nd, a friend I was in Iraq with was sent home early because his wife was diagnosed with NON-Hodgkins Lymphoma.


At any rate, a simple blood donation and signing up with the National Marrow Donor Program can help! even if you are not a match for someone in need of marrow, your blood can be used as a replacement for blood lost during treatment(s). In a best case situation, you marrow matches and will have saved a life.

Contact your local blood bank, register with the NMDP and add to the pool. You may not be a match for my two situations, but you could be a match for SOMEONE!!
