Seems like IDL, CB, and WR to a lesser extent are the value positions around the top of R2. All positions of need.

All things equal, I'd probably prioritize CB.

WR especially is a position I think you can find some value in the 2nd/3rd waves of FA. Eventually we'll need to add some primo talent but for an offense just getting its footing, I'd probably go boring and sign guys that can block and pick up 1st downs.

It's hard to get too far into the weeds without knowing anything about the coaching staff though.

FA is very light on WR, as we've seen. The draft is deep at WR and S, top-heavy at zero-tech, full of the usual scheme/favorite trait fits into round 4 at OT and 5 at G.

In mocks I've looked at and played in, fifteen -eighteen WRs are gone by pick 102. Seeing guys who has a fourth round grade less than a month ago going in round 2.

KK turned JSN into a monster. Bowers put in analogous numbers with dog meat at QB. Tucker showed last year how dangerous he can be. KK will get Bowers better depth of target and will use Tucker to clear out. Bech already trended in a minor sample to be a first down catch guy.

One of the best back-shoulder catch WRs in this draft is tall and ran a 4.36 40 with a 9.88 RAS. If there is no OT or S at 2.36 and the team either truly doesn't want a zero tech or believes it can get Big Orange later, I am not the first person to suggest De'Zhaun Stribling may be the pick.

Stribling is a good idea. 36 may be a bit rich for him. Would be in if hes there in the 3rd

Would not hate Stribling at 2.36. Would have to see who else is available at that point. I wonder if Spyguy would try to trade up with Seattle who needs more picks. Maybe have a shot at Boston.

I have like 5 WR’s I like for us in this draft that could be potentially available to us. Thats really about it. I’m not a huge fan of this class.

KC, Lemmon, Burks, C.Bell and Bernard. With a mild affinity for Hurst and Boston

If C Bell's knee checks out, and apparently it has, you get your X at 2.36. Just not sure when he will be ready for camp if at all. They brought him in for a top 30 visit.

I think Bell is a Z / Y big slot. Don’t get me wrong he will line up everywhere if he can handle the load but primarily I see him as a Z. That still leaves us with Thornton and Tucker as the X. Aka the guy who will be more of a “high variance” run them out of the play guy.

I would be happy as hell if we ended up with C Bell. I know we all want an X I just don’t see that guy in the draft who will make an impact as an X. Certainly not enough to target them as such.

So I just looked at his "hilites".

Wondering what you see. You are talking about the Bell from Louisville?
Absolutely. Speed, power, and damn good hands. He can run a very solid route tree. One of the few guys who can handle man, press and still work the zone.

If he can refine his game a bit and get a little cleaner he is one of the few "A level" Wrs in this class.

Deebo/AJ Brown comp if it hits IMO.

I saw a good comp for Boston that made sense to me. Crabtree.

Good size and solid enough at everything. Not gonna out race the elite corners but does enough to get open and he is gonna come down with it.

I dont think those mocks with him being there at 36 are realistic.

That Miami game where he just put it in 2nd gear and blew by the DB's was pretty impressive. He's just so strong and powerful.

AJ, maybe even a faster Dante. Not a fan of the Deebo comp. Never really liked him so. Quite a few people rave about Bell’s feet.., I can’t say I am nuanced enough to see all that so I just go with what I hear on that one.

It’s just that year where I don’t think anyone knows shit. If you told me we were looking at McPounder, Chris Johnson, EMW, Boston, KC and OT Miller all in the board at 36 I wouldn’t be completely shocked. Also wouldn’t be shocked if none of them are there or two or three sitting there. Likelihood is they are all gone still but.

Seems like a pick a flavor that fits less a draft BPA after top 15-20

On this point, any draft nick grading this draft is as clueless as they were in setting their boards—another reason I prefer Arif’s work. Normalizing dumb is less dumb. :D

It’s also not the end all be all of how things end up. But that’s okay you go ahead and green and red away.

Given the variance and clustering of grades, I already deviated from Arif’s consensus in my ‘lil Al. Being +/- 20 seems less important this year.

Agree with all of that. And it’s why I think we should trade up to 23 and take Iheanachor or Miller. There are no guys at 36 that would help Jeanty and Fernando more in the future. Every ranking list is different in this weak ass draft.

The dudes from 30-50 are all similar, nobody can agree and you might get a Bech. Just go get a plug and play RT.
