Anyone else collect gas station memorabilia (signs, oil cans, maps, etc)?

This is one of my favorite sites. Unfortunately, it hasn't been updated since 2021.

I wouldn’t call myself a collector but if I come across some old Americana automobile or motorcycle memorabilia that would look cool in the garage I’ll pick it up. I like to come across it randomly though, I don’t really seek it out.

@JohnQ

You are a truck driver, right?

Any thoughts?

It's interesting stuff. Kind of cool. But I don't really have any avenue or source for such stuff.

Gotcha.

Mostly business for you. No romance in it.

Do you use certain truck stop chains or not?

BTW my first job was at a Union 76 gas station in San Leandro on Davis Street. It's no longer there and unfortunately I don't have any branded stuff from there.

I'm a local driver for a freight company. So I don't really have to go into truck stops very much.

I did over the road in 93 so I know the names. Petro T/A and Love's. Flying J.
And I also live near the truck stop in Sacramento.

But just like old Coke signs and such. It's all interesting. I've just never really went out looking for it.
